Here is the best concept for Iowa State football I have ever seen. It is from SportsLogos.net and was put up by a user named mbannon92 last fall. I love the use of the basketball jersey stripes and think that it would help make a cohesive look throughout the athletic department.

No, it would just be awful marketing to not have your primary logo as the logo on the schools helmet of the most popular sport in America.

Put a bleeping sticker that is the state of Iowa on the helmet... That's all. Solid on solid, actual gold not Pantone bs and actual Cardinal, exact same color as the Trice throwbacks. Damn our colors suck

Black is not Iowa specific. Lot of schools use black secondaries. Unfortunately people will cry too much about Iowa for this to ever happen

Ya they just need to have more red that gold accent trim on the uniforms but black would draw super interest from viewers

A cyclone looks cluttered and silly when on a TV scoreboard. I-State stands out. Go back on an old TV broadcast and look at how stupid our logo looked when it was the whirling tornado bird with blue.

There's a lot of stupid on this board (and some of it is me), but changing the I-State logo might be the stupidest.

This was an edit I made on a previous uniform thread:

ISU needs a uniform that is both unique and has ties to who we are. We cannot do something flashy like Oregon or OkSt, nor something crazy like Maryland. But at the same time we cannot do the simple solid jerseys with a number on the side of the helmet like OU or Bama. Thanks to the Trice stripes on the helmet, shoulders, legs, and shadowed on the midsection, this design is both a call back to ISU's history and something completely unique in CFB.

I cannot recommend this enough.
