Michigan State vs. Iowa

Iowa's schedule next year:

Miami (OH)
Iowa State
North Dakota State
@ Rutgers
Northwestern
@ Minnesota
@ Purdue
Wisconsin
@ Penn State
Michigan
@ Illinois
Nebraska

B1G East teams they miss: Indiana, Maryland, Michigan State, Ohio State

They will be back in Indy, not much of a doubt about it.

How does the Big10 setup their schedules that they could miss tOSU so much over the years? Super conferences are dumb.

This. There were what, four, 3rd down conversions, and the 4th down? The 3rd down shovel pass to the te was huge, then the other 3rd down conversions were running players, and it wasn't like they were needing just 1 yard, it was 3 or 4.

Honestly, Michigan St was doing to Iowa, what Iowa does to Iowa St when Iowa St is needing a stop to get the ball back.

13 of those plays went for three or less yards. That drive was blood from a stone, all the way to the end zone.

Don't play the three best teams, play all the bad ones except for Rutgers.

Realignment threw a big wrench into the schedules twice. Iowa has played OSU just once since Nebraska joined the conference because they've been in separate divisions. They were supposed to play last year at Kinnick, but Rutgers and Maryland messed that up.

I think the B1G (and the SEC and ACC for that matter) should consider going to 10-game conference schedules now. Especially the B1G who won't be playing FCS teams anymore.

You can get one Group of 5 tune-up in there for everyone and then the other non-con can be a Power 5 opponent for either the playoff hopefuls or the teams with non-B1G rivals like Iowa or another MAC-type team for the teams just reaching for 6-6.

As it stands now, even with the B1G going to 9 conference games, teams don't even play half of the other division in a given year.

Tough loss last night but what a great game. Thirty seconds away from winning the title in the toughest conference in the country and a spot in the college football playoff. Amazing season, very proud.

That was a lot of troll in one post.

Never pegged you as a moral victory kind of guy. Who knew.

The teams in the East, who also had to play Iowa and or Wisconsin, probably have a right to say that, Iowa fans do not. Might as well claim you are in the SEC, because you played as many good teams from that conference as you did in the Big 10 during the regular season.

Its crazy to think people were so brain washed they thought the Hoks were a top 5 team. That schedule was a joke and they would have beat several times if they would have played the big boys. They won the games they were should have but these super conferences are a joke and this just proves it. By the way **** the Hoks.

Would you say you're......pwoud?

This is exactly what I keep thinking every time I see a Hawkeye say how "proud" they are of their team. Don't get me wrong, what Iowa accomplished this year is something to be proud of. But come on, you got to see the irony in using this particular word after all the ***** they were talking about Paul Rhoads being so "pwoud" as they put it.

Seriously, even if it was the toughest conference, which is VERY debatable, Iowa still didn't have to play 3 or 4 of the best teams in the conference during the regular season.

And next year sets up just as well for Iowa, or maybe even better. They have a cakewalk to the title game again next year.

You do realize they lead the #3 team in the country for the majority of the game, correct?

Iowa is easily one of the best ten teams in the nation.

Iowa is headed to the Rose Bowl and will be ranked #5. All but official right now. A very good consolation prize for a very good season overall. My prediction from October of a 12-0 start capped off with a 12-2 finish is still very much alive.

So you agree with him that they are not a top five team.
