Michigan State vs. Iowa

You do realize they lead the #3 team in the country for the majority of the game, correct?

Iowa is easily one of the best ten teams in the nation.

Then you'd have to think Purdue, Oregon and Michigan are top 10 as well, I mean they all played Michigan St as tough as Iowa did, heck those teams even managed to score a few points. Oh and don't forget about the Huskers, they hung nearly 40 on this same defense that Iowa and tOSU couldn't put 2 tds on

Iowa doesn't lose much going into next year, their schedule is only slightly more difficult on paper.

I see a bowl win the finish this year. Last night proved they are a much better team than many of us gave them credit for. And I expect at least a 10 win team next year.

You don't really want to go there, do you? Because if you do, then Iowa State is also a top 10 team in the country too since they led the majority of the game against Iowa, right?

So by that logic, Iowa State is one of the best teams in the nation because they led or were tied with Iowa for a good portion of the ISU/Iowa game.

ISU's offense 55th in total yards. MSU 66th. But they just ran it down Iowa's throats that last drive. What they should have done all game with noodle-arm at QB. But at least they let Beathard try to win the game.

So you agree with him that they are not a top five team.

Not necessarily. The committee did apparently have a tough time differentiating between 5-8.

I'll accept what the committee comes out with. I've pumped their decisions all season, it'd be hypocritical to change that now regardless of what happens.

I do kinda feel bad that more people aren't giving the Hawks credit. They did represent all Iowans well last night and did it the right way.

Just kidding. **** Iowa.

I wonder how that game would have turned out if MSU had run a lot more? Especially with LJ Scott. I would have rode him all night long and wore Iowa down much sooner than they did.

Obviously MSU would have had to still throw it a little just to keep Iowa's defense somewhat honest, but it was obvious that Cook couldn't get hardly anything on his throws. They were almost all short. And MSU always seemed like they could get 4 yards per run at least with Scott, even when Iowa had the play stopped Scott seemed to wiggle out of it and get 4 yards or more.

I almost feel bad for them with all these analysts talking about how Iowa got exposed against a team with a QB without arms. Almost.

Tough loss last night but what a great game. Thirty seconds away from winning the title in the toughest conference in the country and a spot in the college football playoff. Amazing season, very proud.

Boring game between two average teams in a weak conference. Clemson was a much better game.

Here's the difference, snowflake. I'll admit msu is better. They are. Hard to argue against that.

You, on the other hand, spent the season arguing that isu is basically equal to Iowa. Are you willing to admit Iowa is clearly the better team than isu?

Oh, and Iowa is actually ranked in the top ten after last night. So me saying Iowa is easily a top ten team isn't "going there". Whereas your argument is nothing short of pure idiocy.

Snowflake. Takes a special kind of butt hurt to start calling a rival that when you're on their board confused as to why your team isn't getting warm fuzzies.

But hey, I know, you're not butt hurt....you're just here defending Iowa's honor.

MSU had three freshman d backs against kNU due to injuries.

Scott only averaged 3.3 per carry. People talk like he had this super human game agains Iowa. He didn't. He just came up big when needed most.

First off, of course Iowa was better than ISU this year. I just think it would be interesting to see what Iowa's record would have been playing ISU's schedule and ISU's record playing Iowa's schedule?

I think Iowa would still have clearly had a better record than Iowa in that scenario, but how much better? I think Iowa would have went something like 9-3 with ISU's schedule, and ISU would have went something like 6-6 with Iowa's schedule.

So yes, Iowa is clearly the better team, just not a 9 win better team as it shows on paper. When they actually played against one another it was pretty tough to tell who the better team was, kinda like the MSU-Iowa game last night. Iowa proved to be the better team against ISU by wearing them down in the 2nd half, just like MSU did to Iowa last night by running 50 plays to Iowa's 13 in the 2nd half and Iowa never getting across midfield except for the bomb to Smith.

MSU dominated Iowa in the 2nd half last night, just like Iowa did to ISU, and that is an indication of the better team.
