I mean, he could give a portion of his salary to the Kansas City Chiefs Benevolent society, as far as I know.

I wonder if some of the 'restructuring' is coming to roost in New England? Are they in some way still paying Tom Brady?

Its not the money that is the problem for any teams in the NFL is the cap hit. They only have around $245 million to get everyone under contract, and if they push contracts down the road they still have to apply a lot of that money against their total money. Right now the Chiefs have around $23 million in cap space to use, but that is going to get eaten up quickly if they sign Jones or Sneed.

Really interested to see what they do at WR. Draft class is deep and may depress market of for some of the FA WRs which will help the Chiefs.

We need to sign a good one, and draft a good one. Rookie WR’s don’t do as well as Rice did under Reid. Get a veteran to help bridge the gap. If a rookie ends up playing great again, even better.

Just listening to a lot of podcasts about Chiefs free agency and I just don't think Jones is going to be back. It just makes too many other things impossible or very difficult.
Also listened to a podcast that talked about an interview with Spags and basically saying they can't do what they do without Sneed and McDuffie being able to lock down two guys. He also considers Bolton to be the QB of the defense and hugely important. Sneed needs to be signed and Bolton only has one more year left. Plus you have Danna and Tranquil. They want to upgrade WR, figure out what they are going to do at LT,
You also have Justin Reid and Creed coming up for free agency next year. Oh and Trey Smith.
Jones is also just a few months shy of 30 so It would be tough to throw 28 mill or more a year at a 30+ DT. That just doesn't seem wise.

I will come down to signing one either Jones or Sneed, and I think the Chief's will sign Sneed, to pair with Mcduffey allowing them to lock down the WR's of the other team. Jones has been great, but he is turning 30 this season and wants a deal around $28 million a year. Sneed will never command that much money, so we can sign him and then at least one of the other LB's on the team.

The problem is Jones wants more than 28 mill. That is why they couldnt' get a deal done last year.

Veach definitely has work to do this spring.

We have to do something with Thuney too. That contract is looking like a problem. Nick Allegretti did well enough I'd honestly roll the dice with a good center, below average guards and above average tackles.

Yeah Thuney has two years left I think.
 
It is a tough call. Jones just literally won the Chiefs a SuperBowl. I just cannot see letting him go. Also, the odds of finding a good replacement for Sneed are much higher. Heck, there may be a dude already on the roster ready to break out. If we can only have one, I would prefer Jones. He is unique and likely irreplaceable. Throw a couple of mid-round draft picks at CB and see if you cannot find a young replacement for Sneed.

Antonio Pierce didn't say anything I wouldn't already think he's talking about behind closed doors but I love that he's saying it publicly. Mahomes is pretty petty in a good way I'm sure he'll be extra focused for Raiders next year.

Mahomes is the last person in the league you want to piss off, just like everyone that doubted him this season about winning a playoff game on the road.
I get the feeling the Chiefs and Mahomes are going to be very focused this upcoming season, they want to be the first team in history to 3 peat. That goal will stop them from getting soft and lackadaisical like they did at times this past season.

Gotta cut costs as much as possible and guessing the punt god took a pretty friendly deal just to get the opportunity.
 
Don’t hate this. Rosenhaus is going to get Tommy PAID and we can’t have the highest paid everything.

As long as he can hold for Butker idgaf who’s punting.
