Wild. I was at the parade and speeches and didn't hear anything while leaving, but saw tons of cops fly by with sirens on and it didn't seem like it was for traffic control. Did not think it would be this.
Local TV saying maybe 7-10 injured. Come on people we can be better than this.....
Got a text from my (adult) son just before 2 to let us know in case we saw the news, he is ok - but was about a block away, heard the shots and said police were on the ground right away. He's back home now.
Does this crap every end, just how many more people have to be injured or killed just so people can have a gun. I am tired of hearing about how its in the Constitution, and we can never stop it. How about people that own guns actually step up to the plate and come up with a system that works, instead of just saying "no, I want my guns"

I think we've proven as a species that we still have a lot of evolution yet to go before we can truly be called a well developed, intelligent lifeform. Kids wearing bullet proof backpacks, parades being rammed with cars, carrying guns is cool, carrying/shooting semi-automatic rifles as a family in campaign commercials is somehow positive... it is so sad. I'll stop there as it will naturally turn too political otherwise.
I hate to break it to you, but we (as an human species) have already reached our peak years ago, and are currently on a pretty steep decline. And there is no chance of recovery. It’s just the reality.
I didn't want to say it, but yeah, you are absolutely correct. On the flip side, once we've officially gotten back down to the capabilities of an ape, we'll have a bigger workforce again.

Probably not wrong. Although it wont affect me per say, I am old enough it won't happen in my life. My kids and their kids good luck. Not to rant and rave but the country is at a crossroads and we have probably pushed the tube of toothpaste that their is no coming back from.
I’m going to sound really cynical and I don’t mean to make it sound as bad as it will. But singling out a group of rich people with paid security shouldn’t really be the focus of anyone right now. The focus should be on the community at large, supporting them, and pulling everyone together. Any mayor would do the same, and I honestly get why, it’s just a little insensitive to the larger issue of a dozen injured and possibly more than one fatally.
