NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

Not to be a harbinger of an end, because I think Andy Reed has 2-3 more years in him, maybe more, but who is the next KC coach after Reed?

I know, dumb question and too early to call, but worth thinking about. Do the Chiefs bring in a top coach, when that time comes, or do they have one biding his time in the system?

Congrats Chiefs fans - you are now that one fan base that you all hated for 20+ years. And while I don't inherently have an issue with the Taylor Swift stuff... it doesn't exactly make you all any more likable, either.
Wah, wah! Maybe you should buy Jerome a drink?

I would be good with bringing back Doug Peterson. He is not killing it in Jax, but I think he is talented.

He’s not retiring while Mahomes is in his prime. Hes 65. Bill, Carol, and Saban among others all coached in their 70’s.

I hope so. Those you mentioned, however, were in better physical shape. Andy has always fought his weight issue. He's tried before but can't keep it off.

If he wants to coach another 5 years, he's going to have to lose some weight. As you get older the extra weight takes it's toll on the joints (hips, knees), and heart.

It is pretty impressive the depth that the Chiefs, mostly Veach and his team, have been able to build on defense. To lose Nazeeh Johnson to start the year who was slated to be the third corner, then Bryan Cook, Nnadi, Omenihu, and be able to still play at a high level is pretty amazing. And they are the youngest defense in the league.

This why I can feel Jones is for sure gone and maybe even Sneed. Defense lost plenty of players throughout the season and still maintained a high level of play. Is that because they are so deep? Or is it because they have centerpieces like Jones, Bolton, Sneed and McDuffie and that parts around them are interchangeable? Veach has some very difficult decisions to make..

Curious how many Chiefs fans are planning to vote for the people in November still claiming it was fixed. Probably a real conundrum for some.

Trent Williams might be the greatest NFL lineman ever.

Mike Pennel had the game of his life.

I don't know about that. Even though he's been to 11 Pro Bowl's he's only been first team all-pro 3 times and 2nd team once. Hall of Famer for sure though. Jonathan Ogden went to 11 Pro Bowls and was a 4 time first team all-pro and 5 time 2nd team.
