NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

Yes, decades of pain, displeasure, and apathy if you are a KC fan of a certain age.
The draft where we took Todd Blackledge from Penn State and could have taken Kelly, Marino and a couple of others. The only QB off the board was Elway, and the Chiefs took the worst of remaining QB's and it was not even close. Guy is a heck of a college football announcer but he sucked playing in the NFL. But he was a winner, won the national title as a senior, forgetting it was all based on their great running game.

The FO office back then was beyond horrible.

Then Joe Delaney drowns.

Mahomes is at the top of his game, the defense is playing well, and Butker is making any field goal that is 55 yards and in. Can we continue to do it one more game is the question.

Purdy has struggled the past 2 or 3 games, his passes have not been sharp and their defense looks average at best. Is the stage to big for Purdy at this point in his career, or do they plan on just running McCaffery at us all game long and hoping he can wear us down.

It will all come down to turnovers, the Chiefs have been the best at it in the playoffs, I think KC 31, SF 21.

How we feeling about the game, boys?
Honestly, I think this is a double digit W for the Chiefs. As much as its been great seeing Brock get this far, i think the Chiefs are playing the best football of the year right now, and the defense has been really really good. Hard to count out Mahomes and Co. when they are firing on all cylinders. McCaffrey is the only matchup i dont like for the D, but if Gay plays then i think that alleviates some of my concern.

If for some reason they do lose, at least we wont have to listen to Purdy naysayers all offseason

I think KC will be pretty hot offensively their first 2 or 3 possessions when they run their packaged plays. Andy Reid with 2 weeks to prepare is usually tough. I feel like they will jump out to an early lead and stop a late SF comeback attempt. This has the makings to be an all-time great SB. Lots of storylines, star players, and 2 great franchises.

I kinda feel the opposite truthfully. I think the chiefs get down by a TD or so before the actually show up. That seems to be the postseason cadence of this team

I'm usually somewhat pessimistic but I feel more confident about this game than the previous 3 Super Bowl's they were in. They seem super focused and they have the best player so I like them to win by 7-10 points. It's going to be a great game.

Maybe it’s because it’s my fav NFL team playing against a kid from my favorite college team, but I can’t remember being more excited for a SB. Should be a great game. Willing to bet even the halftime show won’t suck that bad
