NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

Maybe it’s because it’s my fav NFL team playing against a kid from my favorite college team, but I can’t remember being more excited for a SB. Should be a great game. Willing to bet even the halftime show won’t suck that bad
I'll never be as excited as I was for their first one against SF. It didn't even seem real when we won the AFC title game that year. We seemed like a cursed franchise forever.

I think the Chiefs win but will basically be rooting for the offense the entire game. Give me a back forth game with one team up by 3 or 7 and a great game winning (or OT bound) drive by whoever has the bowl.

I almost always feel like the Chiefs will lose big games. Hard habits to break as an ISU, Chiefs and Cubs fan. I can see the edge rushers of SF causing a lot of havoc. That killed them in the TB super bowl. Also, if the niners can run the ball and keep Mahomes off the field a lot, the Chiefs will have to be perfect on offense to win. A lot like the Buffalo game except the niners wont have a bunch of starters out on defense.

I think the Chiefs will win though. Spags and the defense are nasty on passing downs. Mahomes and the offense should be able to do enough.

100% agree. I hope it’s a great game, and I’ll be very happy no matter which team wins.

I was really shocked at the amount of national guys picking the Chiefs. Through a lot of the breakdowns it seemed like it was going to be a SF pick, but then so many ended with "Ya, but Mahomes." Defense is playing great, offense generally is starting the game strong, Niners have been slow starters the last two games and their defense looks vulnerable, so naturally I'm more nervous than I should be.

I really think the playoff games on the road has galvanized this team. They eliminated a lot of the mistakes that were hurting them early in the year and know what they need to do to finish the job.

It's hard to pick against a team that has been on the big stage as much as they have lately and has the best player.

Well, the "official" SB thread is actually a 49ers thread. Other Chiefs fans, feel free to join in the game conversation here. I'm watching on a bit of DVR delay so I can speed through the halftime show, but the offensive performance isn't very impressive thus far other than one long throw down to the 10 only to be immediately fumbled away by Pacheco.

10-0 is the magic number for Mahomes

Have a chance to come out of halftime and tie it up with the first possession. Moved the ball well toward the end of the half. Need to figure out the pass protection....and run blocking, really....everything O-line. Figure they'll look to get Kelce some touches early.

The comforting thing is the Niners are only in this game because the Chiefs are beating themselves
