NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

Getting Hopkins would be huge for the Chiefs, then with their first pick they could take the best available at anyone of these three positions, TE, Edge, or OT. In the 2nd round take the best available of the other two that you did not chose in the first round. Then spend the rest of the draft filling out with D lineman, Corner or Safety, TE and O lineman.

Trade CEH to move up if necessary to get the guys you want, but lets get Hopkins first. Hate to see him going to Buffalo.

I think Q Johnston from TCU is intriguing and it may not take much of a move to get him. I have seen some mocks that do not even have him as a first round pick, and I heard an assessment on local radio that some think he lets too many footballs get into his body.
There have been a few first round WRs from TCU recently. I can’t remember one that deserved to be there and Johnston is no different. Dude isn’t fundamentally sound, and that rarely gets better as a pro.

Not sure CEH would get you a tackling dummy in return.

CEH won’t bring anything significant back. Maybe a 6th rounder.

What I’ve been hearing for awhile is CEH and a 3rd for Hopkins. Hopkins is also willing to restructure. Chiefs would still need to free up some cap space though, and obviously potentially up the offer depending on what other teams(mostly Bills as of now) are offering. But if a third round pick is part of the trade it obviously will be done in the next few days.

Anudike-Uzomah was a solid pick to end the first round. Filled a need and now have taken DE 2 years in a row in the 1st round. Will be interesting to see where they go with their 2nd and 3rd round picks as they have 2 picks in the 4th 6th and 7th rounds to possibly package up and move up in one of those rounds to get a target. Guessing OT and WR are still on the shopping list.

Read something today that stated the Chiefs were looking to trade up, but teams in the AFC were reluctant to help the Chiefs get better than what they already are.
The Edge rusher from KSU filled a need, tonight we need an WR, OT or TE. The Chiefs roster will make it difficult for players drafted tomorrow to make the team, I would like to see the Chiefs active in trading their 4-7 picks when they have 7 picks in those rounds to move up and get quality players.

They traded up and got a WR round 2 I see. They have too many picks this year so trading up to nab a few preferred targets this draft makes sense. If you look at last year they hit on nearly all picks and eve ln their 7th rounders made a big impact. The current front office has done well drafting the past few years.

Yep. Traded up slightly again to get an OT in 3rd round. They are following the plan many of us thought. Too many picks to use them all, so package lower level picks to move up, even just slightly.

Very good draft need wise so far, loved that we packaged picks in lower rounds to move up for players that can help us this season or beyond. The Athletic thought that neither player taken yesterday will start this season but can fill in and add depth.

Some work left to be done, draft another TE, D line help, always try and take a corner/safety, maybe another lineman G/C type and we should be good. Seems like Arizona is planning on keeping Hopkins, which is better than him going to Buffalo,

It's just hard to grab difference makers drafting as low as the Chiefs are, have to go out and found the diamonds in the rough to keep this rolling.

Chiefs tried to trade up in the first round with Dallas. Dallas asked who are you looking at. Chiefs said the DT from Pitt. The Cowboys said no thanks and drafted him themselves.

They've done a pretty good job doing that though the last few years.
