It's a blow to our O Line, but nothing we can't overcome. We are the Alabama of the Midwest. We will continue to march toward a Big 12 championship and CFP.
Is this fact? Is he truly out for the year? Or just speculation??Campos is out for this year and 2017 will be his final season unless it also ends with an injury early, in which case he could probably get a sixth year. But not now.

Thank you for clearing that all up for me.It is definitely a speculative fact.
I posted earlier that he broke a leg, but someone since has told me it's a broken ankle. Neither of those sources were doctors, so I'm not sure the severity or what not.
Honestly I've heard both too. Sounds to me like a lower leg injury of some sort. Terminology can be tricky with those deals.
First off, sad to hear this. Secondly...I'm . already worried about the expectation levels creeping up but it seems like in the past week or so since the media hype train started up full bore people are getting sucked in. I keep hearing the "B" word getting used more frequently which is insane.
This is a rebuilding year. A 1st time P5 coach year. Another year with a terrible o-line.
So PSA: don't get sucked in. This will probably help us in a couple of seasons.
My horse broke an ankle and we shot it...
It is definitely a speculative fact.
The O-Line will be fine, we have a lot of up and coming talent working hard there.
Guess we can't change what supposedly has happened. Have to have the next guy ready. No excuses.
So nearly a foregone conclusion?
Everyone is jumping to medical conclusions, and it seems likely even his doctors are as yet unsure how long he will be out with the broken ankle. I highly doubt any definitive word has filtered to anyone posting here on the board unless its Chris Williams.
I broke my ankle about 15 years ago, and was back running and playing basketball within a month. That was a small "crack" and I'm guessing the possibilities range from 6 weeks to a full season for recovery in Campos' case. If he can make it back by late October for our final 5 weeks, that will limit how much his absence impacts the season. Depth on the OL is a problem, but it becomes increasingly so in the last half of the year. If he returns at that time, we may just be all right...JGJ seems like he will be an adequate replacement, or Fett may even shift out to Right Tackle. Either way, this hurts some but its not "devastating" as some seem to be suggesting.
I reserve the right to change my optimistic view on that, however, until I see how many other injuries we have along the OL in the pre and early season. If our starting five stay mostly healthy, this isn't a huge thing...that said, any more serious injuries and...well...there is always next year.
