ISU @ Colorado Postgame

I'll smear the ISU coaches week in and week out if this crap continues. Against A&M we play zone defense, we could have gotten burned every play had OSU not been so nice to the cyclones, and then today two touchdowns UNCONTESTED, not to mention a freakin shotgun option on the goal line. I'm sorry, but that is pathetic. I have never seen such a horrific play call for the final play of the game. I'm done blaming the players. I feel like they are playing their assignments. It's time ISU's "defensive coach" steps up calls some defensive plays instead of pacing back and forth on the sideline talkin on his headset. Say what you'ld like, two years isnt enough for you to judge this team, Cyclone fans havent even gotten to watch GC's recruits mature. I dont care, no one can mature, improve , get better with this kind of play call. And I'm spent.

If this means you won't be posting any more stupid, thoughtless rants, then thank goodness!!

Thoughtless? Nah, I was in Boulder, I'll say what I want.
I was in Iowa. I'll say that I saw the same game that you did. I saw the last play with some really poor execution. It could have worked. The WR gave up on his block and AA pitched too fast. If some of those guys bite on AA and the WR blocks, we have a TD instead of the 3 yard loss we got.

It'll be nice when we aren't missing two to four starting offensive linemen every game.

A Robs was nice to see.

This has to be the most disappointing season I've ever witnessed. I honestly expected at least 5 wins this year. If you would have told me that we'd win only two games I would said "that's crazy, those are fighting words"

I have a massive heart ache after this game. A.A and A-Rob played their guts out.

Do you see too many SANE fans on this site? Excellent post. I understand the frustration with the results and I think the coordinators need some help but to say we get rid of the head coach after less than two years is inane. Plus who do we get that is going to turn it around any quicker?

Is he in Florida? Brewster and harbaugh are taken.

I just did not think we would drop to the bottom of the league this year. I expected 3-4 wins. Missouri is a loss because they need a win for the North. Prince team will play tough their last game in Manhattan. Our work to win a game will be difficult no matter how well we play or how inspired we become. We have not stopped Chase Daniel for two years. Josh freeman is closely connected to prince and expect him to have a good game passing over the middle. Basketball is finally here. This year from a yardage standpoint so far is the worst in recemt history at 450 yards a game. Worse than 2003 even. 2003 really had no offense.

The defense needs to get 50 yards a game average better and so does the offense for us to win. Our penalties need to be half what we accumulate. With our turnover ratio and special teams we should have won at least four games. This just means Gene will have to stay longer - like 2012 or 2014. Same for JP since his work will not be over very quickly. Selling tickets will be more difficult. Looks like Iowa tickets will be not sold singly and the Applebee packs will be back next year to sell out the leftovers. And we get to play Bill Snyder/Dan/TCU in Arrowhead.

I don't know how many of you expected to go to a bowl this year, but I didn't. I see progress in players. Our best ones are underclassmen. They are chiziks. Today sucked, but lets say we won, where does that get us? I am in it for the long haul. I am not going to act like we are some great program and we deserve to win, it will take time. I will be there next week because I love my team. I hope you all are there too. You are cyclone fans, be there.

Been a long time since I've been this mad after a game. Unreal.

I haven't been this mad since the KU game, sometimes I'd rather get blown out than watching the better team lose.

The way that game went, psychologically, we needed that win today and we didn't get it. Severely concerned about the future of ISU FB.

For the first time in the GC era, I am too...it's in their heads now.

How many games have you been to?

November 21, 1998. ISU beat Kansas 23-20 in front of a crowd of 26,059 to win their first conference game. It was actually much less then 26 thousand who braved the weather on that day, who braved the snow in the bleachers and the frigid wind. But to the few who attended that game, it may go down in history as the one of the greatest games ever in Jack Trice Stadium. The circus of September was over and the true spirit of Cyclone Football came back on the day. See, the people who attended that game were people of hope, they didn't care about next season, and they had no remorse for the past. All they saw a small glimmering chance that somehow, someway ISU might win a game. And win they did, and that game will forever go down as one of the greatest games of all time.

Every season of Cyclone Football has always had one point, where time stops, and the light from Heaven shines upon the Cyclones. When you kneel by your bed tonight, remeber the run by Mr. Robinson today, and smile, for one moment today, the light of heaven shined on ISU, if only for a moment.

I hope the weather next Saturday is frigid, and all the fair weather fans stay home. For on those days, when the die hards are the only ones to show up, that is when the true miracles happen. If the Cyclones won every game every season, would that make you happy? If the Cyclones won every game every season, I would no longer be a Cyclone fan and would renounce my fanhood, because I live for the miracles.

No two ways about it. This year has not been as promising as last year. The league is getting better faster than us. We still have trouble avoiding penalties, we still throw four yard passes, we still get mixed up in coverage too much. AA and running backs have improved, some WRs have, yet many have not as much as they did last year. That surprises most of us. Before the loss, Sagarin had us at 110.

You expected us to be further along than we are. We're not. Now you have a choice to make. Support the team or bail out.

I support the team but they need to win a game to match last year. Last year they beat Colorado, K State and Iowa. This year it is Kent State (2-7, ranked 130 by Sagarin) and South Dakota State (5-4, ranked 140). No way did I expect that they would do less this year than last year. As far as I can tell the players are not the problem for the drop off. It seems either the other teams are better this year or we slipped. We are ranked 110 before the Colorado loss and all our other opponents are ranked 80 or higher. So I guess we won the games we could.

Did anyone really think we would score? I almost did but then my 12 year old daughter commented "Dad, don't be delusional, Iowa State never wins!" I thought to myself, wow, my daughter would never know the word delusional if it weren't for Iowa State football.

Are you serious?

We were inside the One Yard Line. Our QB is 6'3". There is no way he gets stuffed on a QB sneak from under center.

Even if they think a QB sneak is coming, the chances of getting the Touchdown are still greater than them stopping us.
