ISU @ Colorado Postgame

I'm not trying to blame Franklin. I don't think a loss(or win) ever comes down to one play. That's why you have to play a whole game. It was just something I noticed.

I was at the game. Complete meltdown by our defense. I put the loss on the D. Our Offense should never have been in a last minute drive situation. I disagree with the option call, but then again the offense shouldn't of had to be in that situation.

That last play looked painfully familiar to the last play against Florida State. An Option is the absolute worst play to call inside the 5 yard line let alone inside the 1.

After watching the replay a few times it would have been nice to slip Franklin behind the defense right there and lob it over... They were ALL selling out on the run, could have been an easy score... Looking at the Colorado alignement it doesn't look like the sneak was there but option to the other side would have been WIDE OPEN.

McFarland has to go

After calling an option play on the 1 inch line to lose a game, Robert McFarland has worn out his welcome for me... I don't usually get bent out of shape like this about stuff and call for someone's head, but that is absolute trash. Line up and play football for the one inch you need to win a game. A shotgun option would be damn close to the LAST PLAY I'D EVER CALL in that situation. just B.S.

Re: McFarland has to go

Yeah I would have been happier with a run up the middle. If you cannot make 1 foot between the tackles, you deserve to lose.

Re: McFarland has to go

You might want to check some post game interviews...it seems both players and coaches think it was a good call that Colorado just covered well.

I'm not sure why you are putting blame on the offense after how they have moved the ball the last few weeks. This offense is getting better, the D on the other hand...

Gotta admit though, previously on that drive - the misdirection play that went to the TE was a thing of pure beauty. Love it when we run that play - rolling one way and passing back to a RB/TE the other way has almost always been successful for us.

I agree, I don't think I have ever seen a defense flood everyone to one side so fast only to get fooled... Perfect call, perfect time...
