ISU @ Colorado Postgame

QB sneak with a 220 pound QB when you need 3 inches is the one and only call to make. The Versus studio guy was basically laughing at McFarland for calling a shot gun option in that situation. I'd laugh too if I wasn't so po'd.

I do have to admit that I was stunned when they didnt sneak the ball inches from the end zone!!

Sometimes these coaches "Outsmart themselves" and this was definitely the case with that option call!!

Good point. I don't think I've ever heard someone say....."Boy..wish we would have stayed in the prevent defense instead of doing what got us here".

I don't get why coaches think this is the right thing. :skeptical: If flat out arse kicking is what got you there then keep doing it. Don't back off and HOPE something else will work. Go out in a blase of glory not like a wuss!

No doubt! Same way on the endzone at the end. Give it to Arnaud and have him sneak it over the line. Unreal. You have to be somewhat of masochist to be an ISU fan.

LAST PLAY OF THE GAME = TERRIBLE

Shotgun on the 6" yard line? Ok. But you have to run the ball up the middle because you're spreading the line of scrimmage out.

If you try to run outside, it takes LB's and DB's 0.05 seconds to get to the ball carrier because they're playing on the line. If they were playing 5 yards out of the back of the endzone, then the play would work.

McFarland. Are you kidding me?

Positive, we are getting alot of young guys playing time and they are looking better and better every game.

Not sure I agree with statement at all.

How about supporting the guys that will be back. I heard the other day that we will return more lettermen than ANY team in the nation. That gives me something to look forward to...

returning guys that are questionable at the BIG 12 level is not overly encouraging. We flat out need better athletes.

Exactly. We were on the 1/2 yard line. I would rather lose the game because our beast of a QB couldn't get 1/2 yard rather than lose on that option play.

While the defense was shaky on a couple series, they actually hung in there and gave us a chance to win.

We get on players when they screw up (L. Johnson), its time to get on the coaches when the screw up. The play calling was HORRID once again. Several times AGAIN when we had 3rd down, we ran plays that were 1-3 yards short of the 1st down marker...including twice in the 4th quarter.

The team played hard enough to win this one...I blame this lose squarely on the coaches.

Ok, this may sound stupid but at least the fan base still cares as evidenced by all the posts here today. Should have been rewarded with a win today though.

How is that a good reason to put some bad ISU football above school and work obligations? Dont get me wrong, I love ISU football and I never even atteneded ISU, but this is the point of the season where I just dont feel like there is anything I, as a fan, can or should have to do, especially when it comes to responsibilities vs. fun.

I know games were too long, so we had to change the way the clock is run, but for what reason?

It must be for the officials for the ISU game. Reviews are rarely used and when they are, they are incorrect.

There should have at least been a measurement.

A Rob easily had a touchdown earlier in the game. No review. At least we scored the next play on an option.

I do not have any problems with play calling except with the last call. Like great players, great coaches rise to the occasion and call the CORRECT plays.

Game management was abysmal.

Are you serious? You know why they are playing? Because there are no juniors and seniors that can beat them out... Whys that? We have guys STARTING that have been in the program for what, 4 months? Lets give them some time to develop, ONE spring and ONE year to work out with the S&C program and see what happens... Colorado was pressing our receivers all day, why? Beacuase they aren't strong enough to shed.. One year in the program and that will greatly improve...

Props to AA for being tough and staying in the game. After we didn't get the ball snaped and got the flag, AA goes and runs through the hole and get a helmet righ on his right arm and ribs. I thought he was coming out but he really sucked it up and stayed in. Tough kid.

I certainly did enjoy watching AA today and A-Rob/Scales. Nice play from Franklin and Darks too. Good, not great, but good job from our offensive line.

And we didn't turn the ball over.

But, still find a way to lose.
