ISU @ Colorado Postgame

I said that in the game thread. 3 corner blitzes in the second half cost us 3 TDs.

Those killed us and the middle blitzes killed us letting them throw it short middle...

I still don't mind the option call, thing that sucked there is there wasn't time to call out of it when we saw the CU alignment... I think if the receiver and TE make their blocks it might have been a different outcome...

Yes. As will the fans. Can't even blame them either.
I wont be at the last home game. Its a busy enough weekend as it is near the end of the semester, and now the team has given me absolutely no reason at all during the entire season to make the effort to clear my schedule to be there.

Prevent defense = preventing victory. Every single coach seems to believe in going to this soft 'keep it in front of you' defense with a lead in the 4th quarter. Couple that with attempting to run out the clock on offense in between the two CU TDs and that's the ballgame.

I never have understood this philosophy and never will. Why not stick with the defense that has brought you to an 11 pt lead?

Good point. I don't think I've ever heard someone say....."Boy..wish we would have stayed in the prevent defense instead of doing what got us here".

I don't get why coaches think this is the right thing. :skeptical: If flat out arse kicking is what got you there then keep doing it. Don't back off and HOPE something else will work. Go out in a blase of glory not like a wuss!

I partially agree with you but I don't think you can even take that risk that the blocking will maybe be good enough. You've gotta sneak that with Arnaud.

I have not written off next year, but I am seriously concerned about it. I'm very worried about the mental status of this team.

need to give both the walking papers

Like I said, I have no inside info at all, but I would be willing to bet that Bolt won't be the D coordinator when Mizzou comes into town.[/quote]

I've just got to ask...Do You have inside information?...I'm serious or are you just going with a hunch er gut feeling??

I am just as ticked at the coaching... however, I hope the players are taking some inventory as well... they need to focus and put an end to all these self-inflicting errors... blown coverages, going the wrong way on plays, over throwing receivers, dropping balls, missed tackles..

I think that is a lot of "lack of discipline" stuff... but can't believe that is the case with Chiz!

yeah - and that when they have a slot receiver or LB kinda checks the receiver short. We take him out of coverage and there isn't enough time for the safety to react.

And the aforementioned two guys chasing the same receiver on rub routes.

Have to admit that it worked earlier. However, I'm not really a fan of taking the ball so far off the LOS in such situtations.

I'll give credit where credit is due. Show my the posiive in continuallly getting killed. It's about WINS.

Besides, guys like you will always show up to paint rainbows.

GO TEAM

Positive, we are getting alot of young guys playing time and they are looking better and better every game.

the team has given me absolutely no reason at all during the entire season to make the effort to clear my schedule to be there.

How about supporting the guys that will be back. I heard the other day that we will return more lettermen than ANY team in the nation. That gives me something to look forward to...

Just a gut feeling. Same gut feeling I had right before they canned Dan and I predicted it early. Everyone gave me crap then too.

If I had to bet, Bolt will be 'reassigned' to just coaching LB's, and Chiz will take over the defense.
