You are right on two counts:

PSU and OSU would finish in the bottom half of the Big 12 South.

And it was a good win for Iowa. PSU may not be one of the 3 best teams in the nation, but they're definitely a top 10 or 15 team, and Iowa stepped up and made plays when they needed to.

I was pretty agnostic about the game, honestly. If there was one game I wanted Iowa to win it was this one, more because I'm a college football fan more than I'm an Iowa hater, and I'd rather see a good BCS championship game.

So it was really a win/win game for me.

What happens if that "great" Penn State team went undefeated and got killed in the BCS game??

Especially if they got in over a team from the SEC or the Big 12 that probably deserve that spot over them???

A reason they need another team in the conference and a championship game... So while I don't agree that Penn State is great, it was a good win for Iowa.

It was also a good win for the Big 12. Now if Texas Tech loses to OSU and/or OU, a one loss team from UT, TT, OU, or OSU still has a chance to play for the National Championship.

Exactly. Most ISU fans are giving iowa credit. And some dumb *** iowa fan comes in to be an idiot.

Case in point of why so many hate the hawks. More often than not, it's not the teams but rather the fans.

Classless. :no: It's fans like you that give the Hawkeyes the national reputation they have. I'm tired of having to explain that I'm not like the Hawkeye fans after someone finds out I'm from Iowa. You do realize that Hawk fans are considered to be delusional, arrogant, classless hick Tom Arnold wannabes?
 
Joe Pa was getting ready to go down from the pressbox and get on the bus.

Looks like michigan State and Ohio State are back in the hunt. Maybe the Big ten wishes they had a playoff title game this year after all.
 
I'm happy to see PSU out of the title hunt, the big 10 is awful. Minnesota loses at home to a 2 win Michigan team, Northwestern in the top 25, Illinois lose to W. Michigain. Terrible conference this year.
 
I went to the first three quarters of the game and I went back in for the last field goal... Here were my non-game related observations.

Green out was unsuccessful, maybe 1 in 3 students wore green.

Weather didn't seem like much of a factor, but it was extremely cold and windy. It had to affect somehow. It did make fans leave early (myself), even in the tight game.

I didn't sit in student section, but it seemed like all the Hawk fans around me were pulling for ISU to win on the scoreboard, and they seemed disappointed when they didn't pull it out.

A Penn State fan sat in front of me and people were giving him a really hard time. One guy even slapped the top of his head nonchalantly as he was walking up the aisle... Some people are just idiots.

After the game, middle aged men were literally dancing and singing in the streets. It was embarassing.
 
Penn State should thank Iowa for doing them a favor and not getting crushed in the title game. Bring on a BCS cluster-you-know-what.

While I congratulate Iowa on winning, that was not a great or borderline great team they played. They play in a bad conference, period. If Western Michigan can beat the Rose Bowl representative from last year, what does that tell you? PSU would be in 5th place in the Big12 South. Not great at all.

No kidding ! Where I work there are several Hawk fans, and there is one Penn State fan, who thought that Penn State could beat any of the top 4 Big 12 teams. So, I guess I lose out either way ! The Hawk fans are going to be unbearable for the next year. Not only that I think they will win out and be playing on New Years Day !

Oh, I am so sick right now !
