Once Iowa takes care of Purdue/Minnesota and then beats the Cocks in the Outback Bowl, they'll finish the season ranked.

Why do most Iowa fans think they will play SC? Doesn't the Outback Bowl take the 3rd pick in the SEC? 2 teams to the BCS (Florida, Alabama) Georgia to the Capital One Bowl. SC is 4-3 in the SEC and plays Florida, LSU is 3-3 and plays Mississippi and Arkansas. LSU should win one or both games and they beat SC earlier this year. It seems like LSU would be the team to play

The fact that Northwestern and Minnesota have been ranked this year, shows how bad the Big 10 is.

The fact that Michigan St is 9-2 shows how bad the Big 10 is.

Northwestern wouldn't go bowling if they were in the Big 12 or SEC. Minnesota would not either. Michigan St would be a .500 team right now fighting with teams like Colorado to get into a bowl game. If you argue that than you don't watch or know much about college football

Give Minnesota and Northwestern ISU's schedule, and they'd have similar records to what they have now.

MSU is the worst 9-2 team I've seen in a while, but again, give them ISU's schedule, and they're at least a 7 win team.

If you argue this, you don't know much about football. ISU nearly beat KU, CU, and has a great shot at KSU. I think either of those teams could beat Nebby and TAMU, which would give them their 7th wins.

Regardless, nobody is saying the Big Ten is stronger than the Big 12 SOUTH. The North is a one team division, with Missouri significantly worse than they were last year.

The Nebraska game would be debateable. However, are you serious with TAMU? They're the 2nd worst team in the Big 12. As I said, their records would be similar to what they are now.

How do you figure? ISU almost beat KU, and sorry, but that says more for how bad KU is than how good ISU is.

Nebraska is decent, like I've said. That's why I have it as a "swing game". I also have the Baylor game as a swing game.

Sorry, but the Big 12 North is MUCH weaker than it was last year. Just look at what happens each time a North team plays a South team.

You put Minnesota or NU in the SOUTH division, they have maybe 4 wins (OOC games included). Give them ISU's schedule, they're right where they are.

This is not true. Check it out. I'm not saying Penn State is great, but at least be accurate.

Ernie's right. Penn State is currently the seventh-ranked team in the Sagarin Ratings. I have no problem with people coming up with well-thought-out arguments about why Penn State didn't deserve to play in the national title game, or why the Big 12 is better than the Big Ten. I think they would beat A&M, but not much of a chance against KU or Nebraska. Baylor would be a good game though. Minnesota or NU would probably finish 4th in the Big 12 North. About where they will finish in the Big 10.

They still haven't figured out match ups. Penn State plays right into what Iowa does best. NWestern does not.

Iowa is a good football team. But can we agree Iowa has trouble against teams like Nwestern, Indiana, and ISU? Now imagine putting Iowa against those teams but with better athletes. That is what you have in the Big 12. Iowa would be able to slow down the Okie St run game, but they would absolutely be destroyed by Baylor. Match ups, Hock fans.

I'm not arguing MSU, because frankly, I don't know how they're 9-2 right now.

But yes, if ISU can almost beat KU, I can say with 100% certainty that both NU and Minnesota would more than stand a chance against them.

And Nebraska is not very good. They're decent, but so are those two teams. The fact that you cannot realize this speaks volumes to your hatred for anything/everything Iowa. And yeah, they may finish 6th or so in the Big 12, but that would still be good enough for a 2nd or 3rd place finish in the North division.

I am an Iowa fan, and then a football fan. I don't really care how strong a conference is perceived, as long as Iowa can take care of business in the OOC. The Big Ten will always be a good conference - it has its up years and down. Right now, it's obviously down. But I watch a lot of football, and I can tell you this, the B12 South easily has 4 of the best teams in the nation. But after those 4 teams, the Big 12 is a very "medium" conference. Missouri is nowhere close to what they were, Kansas is tanked, and Nebraska is still "meh". CU, ISU, and TAMU are all bad, a Baylor is better but has an impossible schedule.
