Iowa Penn State thread

Hmm. Please tell me this is just a brain fart, and nothing more. The winner of the PAC-10 goes on to play in the Rose Bowl each year, unless they are in the NC, or get selected by another BCS bowl (example: Iowa to the Orange Bowl in 02), and let's face it, they aren't going to the NC game, and no BCS bowl will pick them as an at-large.

So let's say Oregon State and USC win out both with one loss (With Oregon State obviously holding the head to head tie-breaker). You think that the Penn State game will somehow cost Oregon State the PAC-10 Title?

Pretty interesting bunch we have here, always quick to sling crap at the wall to see if it sticks (ISU winning the Big Ten and going to the Rose Bowl. This post, etc...) Once someone comes in to challenge it, they get the "Go away, troll" "Don't you have your own board?" treatment.

P.S.: You just proved that a Big Ten team beat the tar out of the probable Rose Bowl representative

Hmm. Please tell me your reading comprehension isn't as bad as it looks like it is.
I was responding to a post that assumed that that the Pac-10 would beat up on the Big 10 team in the Rose Bowl. My point (apparently it got past you in your combative mood) was not to be so sure; in an earlier matchup between two of the top teams, the Big 10 trounced the Pac-10.
Do you understand now???

My mistake, I was under the assumption of him meaning something else. Happens to the best of us.

I will leave you all alone for the time being. Good luck against Mizzou (no sarcasm pirate). You guys could use something positive to build on going into the offseason.

The scary thing is that this staff is 16 points away from being 10-0 right now.

I believe they are 12 points away from being 10-0 right now. Just think if they would have been giving Stanzi all the reps at QB how much better he would be. Our best bet at a win was with Jake C.

I think Iowa is going to be very good next year!

OK, let me have it.

I'm so sick of that 12 points away crap... The teams that beat them are terrible and a good team, a 10-0 team, doesn't put themselves in the position to get beat in a close game...

Northwestern and Illinois are TERRIBLE... Pitt will be out very shortly as well... Congrats, you lost to one ok team...

Michigan State - 9-2
Pittsburgh - 7-2
Northwestern - 7-3
Illinois - 5-5

Yep, those are some pretty TERRIBLE records right there. You have some pretty high standards, just curious, but if those records are to be considered TERRIBLE...what is 2-8 ISU?

Quality wins? Season aint over yet... Pitt and NW will probably lose out..

You do realize that Penn State is the #65 rated team according to the Sagarin ratings don't you? And that was before the loss to Iowa.:wideeyed:

Point? The Big Ten is the 3rd best conference in the nation according to those rankings, and Iowa's SOS is at #47, but that doesn't stop ISU fans from slamming Iowa's SOS and calling the BT HORRID.

The bowl projections have Iowa playing South Carolina in the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1! I CAN'T Believe it! They have only 1 win vs. a team worth a damn & now they're headed to a New Year's Day Bowl. Iowa's not even ranked!! Go figure.

You realize that SOS is pretty dismal for a team who plays 10 BCS opponents in a single year....

Once Iowa takes care of Purdue/Minnesota and then beats the Cocks in the Outback Bowl, they'll finish the season ranked.
