Iowa new transfer?

This is true, Fred pawned him off and he was there for 15 minutes

I can't presume to talk for Fred but are you sure he was that interested in a brittle, 5' 10" shooting guard?

I also heard Woodbury showed up here decked out in Hok stuff. Get back on the bus son, interview is over.[/QUOTE]

Peter Jok shot better than Matt Thomas from the field, the free throw line, and the three point line. Both played against similar competition. Seems pretty clear to me.

We shall see now won't we big guy. BTW you are one shining example of why I hate most Hawk fans

Peter Jok is a better shooter than Matt Thomas is.

I don't think this is that outlandish of a statement. They both can really shoot. That being said, I think it's likely that Thomas is a better ballhandler, will be able to defend better on the perimeter, and will be as good as or better a rebounder than Jok. We will see, though. Thomas played on the bottom of a zone in HS, and Jok moves alright and has some serious length, so there are negatives for Thomas and positives for Jok.

Also has two knees.

Seems like a pretty fair statement to me, though I think Jok will be a better rebounder than Thomas. Fran brought Jok in to fill Iowa's biggest weakness- perimeter shooting. If that's all he turns out to be, he will still be a valuable piece to Iowa's team moving forward, because he can really stroke it. However, there is still that sliver of a chance he eventually regains the athleticism he possessed before the knee issues and becomes a legitimate All-B1G type player.

Wow. That's straight-up stupid right there.

Matt Thomas has all the national attention that Jok never dreamed of, all for being one of the best (if not the best) shooter in this class.

The numbers don't lie. For Jok to shoot over 90% from the line and 40% from downtown, with the volume of shots he takes, is the mark of a great shooter. Thomas is undoubtedly good, but he is no Peter Jok.

I'm a little drunk but if you want to discuss how great Peter Jok is how bout you got discuss it with the 3 other posters on hawkeyenation.

He hasn't proved to be strong in coaching either.

Year 1 - 11-20 (4-14); 10th in B1G
Year 2 - 18-17 (8-10); 7th in B1G; NIT 2nd rd.
Year 3 - 25-13 (9-9); 6th in B1G; NIT runner up

He's charged with bringing a program back from the abyss in a pretty tough conference <insert jab about Iowa conference SOS here>. Still ton of work to do, <insert NIT joke here>, with a bunch of unathletic gingers and injury-riddled WDM Valley shooter wannabes. But I'll take the results he's delivered so far.

It's the offseason still, and Jok is a flyer. We're all expecting big things from our recruits, they took a flyer on Jok, so he's the most interesting. Plus he's the kind of flyer I could really get behind. He can shoot.

I'd take your ginger any day of the week. There is a ton of potential at Iowa for improvement from last years' freshman and if Marble shows up to play all year, they could really do well. Fran is building something there. Jok is risk/reward situation just like Babb/White/Allen were. We will see on him.

There's a reason Thomas was in the highschool three point shoot out and Jok wasn't. I've seen both players play a fair amount of times and your statement exudes homerism. Joks a fine shooter but to say he is better than Thomas is laughable. Also Thomas has a much better all around game than Jok. Im just going to assume you've never seen Thomas play.
