I mean...one could look at it as ISU treats him better than he deserves and he goes on the air and starts talking ISU up so ISU benefits from the relationship. But living in the Cedar Rapids area for as long as I have...creating Iowa State fans around here is tough! And hearing Todd occasionally...most of his complimentary remarks regarding Iowa State are usually backhanded in nature.

Either way, you just aren't converting fans in that area of the state. I lived in CR 20 years ago and it's no different today then it was then. On the flip side, the Des Moines Metro fanscape has changed massively since I moved back to Iowa in the mid 2000's. Iowa used to OWN this market but that is no longer the case.

Maybe move on to Hawk football. Do we have any info on that new committee KF was gonna set up after he trashed the old committee he set up?
These things can not be rushed. They must be taken seriously. You know. Like how Iowa assistant coaches took answering one question seriously during the advisory committee interviews.

More importantly, it takes time to properly arrange for the sponsorship of the Moon Family Alumni Diversity Advisory Committee.

Speaking of this topic. I believe Kirk indicated he was going to put something together that was more effective. He had better get going before he gets wrapped up in spring camp.

In his defense, putting together nothing is more effective than what was put together previously.

To me this is the key point, if he would have called ISU ahead of Milwaukee and said hey, if you make it to Chicago can I get a press pass... This sways me a bit toward ISU on this one.
Why would he have done that? He wasn’t going to need ISU’s press pass, he was guaranteed to be covering the Hawkeyes in Chicago - oh, wait

This goes back to a previous point, when your team loses you have to feel sad and not allow the sadness to turn to anger, I think Todd is not allowing sadness to be felt [he also had something personal happen] in this case. He should be sad ISU didnt allow the press pass, not mad. Todd didnt sound right on the radio, almost like he was fake smiling yesterday.
This is 100% what he was doing. We was stressing affiliate all show with a smile on his face. If Alex would have been in the studio, he would have been laughing his ass off.

I hate to keep beating this horse, but again, what kind of Cyclone radio affiliate are you if you 1) only put the Cyclones on your AM frequency and 2) plaster Hawkeye pregame and postgame shows all over your multiple FM frequencies? Pre- and postgame shows for games you’re not even allowed to broadcast? With ridiculous show titles like “Before The Boom” (yes, that’s their actual Hawkeye football pregame show name)?

What does it say when a Cyclone Radio Network affiliate broadcasts a Hawkeye-themed pregame show leading up to the Cyclone coverage of the Iowa-Iowa State football game?

I’m frankly surprised Iowa State puts up with it, but I imagine they’re still making Eastern Iowa ad money out of the deal, so …

So, a few pages back regarding the media credentials, I chose to contact my good friend who ran P12 media credentials for 25+ years. Here's what he had to say. IMO, very interesting.
NCAA credential policies. You must be on team's media list from the beginning of the tournament. And a media member must have covered the team on a regular basis throughout the season. Not sure what the number is, but it's like 90 percent of all home games. I believe a team can only add a name from an outlet that's been approved. For example, the Des Moines Register Guard was approved for 2 media credentials for 1st/2nd rounds and wants to add a third for regionals, it could so. So, if some random fan site that covers the Hawkeyes during the year now wants to cover the Cyclones in the regionals, he's out of luck. https://www.ncaa.com/_flysystem/public-s3/images/2022/01/11/2021-22%20MBB%20Credentials%20Criteria_01_11_22.pdf
It has been this way since at least the 90's. You have to request credentials in the first and second rounds and send a representative or you are not eligible for credentials in later rounds. I think the NCAA doesn't want media members just jumping in at the Sweet 16 and Final Four when there are more national media members attending with local media members. Also, there are only four sites during the weekend of the Sweet 16 and Elite 8. Less spots available in the press rows. The big dogs are first. The local guys that cover the team on a consistent basis are second. Bandwagon-riff raff-free loaders are left out.

I’ve never really had an issue with Todd before on KGYM. Is he a very outspoken Hawk lover…. yes…. but I still somewhat enjoyed listening to him and thought he was kinda funny too.

But in this situation he’s dead wrong and he’s being a jerk. He has NEVER covered an ISU athletics event before, is that correct? It’s obvious to everyone that he’s looking for a free trip to the Sweet Sixteen at ISU’s expense. He’s a fraud.

You know darn well if he had gotten these credentials that he’d have been bragging to his Hawkeye buddies that he had scammed a free trip to Chicago out of stupid ISU.

In all honesty this tool should be apologizing to ISU on the phone and on Twitter for this IMO. And if he truly wants to cover this game , he can go on his own dime. That will indicate to me that he was truly interested in covering this game, and not just a free trip.

This would be like @CyTwins pissing about not getting credentials to cover a Hawk bowl game. LOL.

BTW, The "GYM"? Someone should buy that guy a real gym membership. I usually don't diss guys appearances but since he's being such a big baby and a little prick I'll make an exception and say that softy needs some workouts.

My favorite is Todd Brommelkamp and Quinn Douglas finding our posts about them on here, screenshotting them, and then tweeting them out to their followers rather than come in here and defend themselves. SAWFT
Did my boner post get tweeted? I hope so as that was my goal.

I’m thinking that this was very true thru the 1990’s, but I’m thinking there is a gradual shift happening as more and more Cyclones move into that part of the state, and more and more “HaydenHawks” die off? Cyclones winning does some amazing things!

Still need to focus on the DM metro in my opinion. There are pieces between i35 and avenue of the saints that is starting to show some signs. Secure the west and DM first imo.
