Never seen a reporter so openly talk about a 5 seed making the Sweet 16. It's all Chad has talked about in March. Did he know they had to win 2 games to get there?
In Chad’s defense, he has always witnessed Mad-Fran post-season futility until this year. Suddenly, Hoks go on a 4-game win streak & I am sure that completely confused Chad on exactly how far along Iowa was in the post-season. Mathematically, he probably thought that today was the round of 32. Who am I kidding…his tweet is typical hokfan arrogance.

Exactly. He's trying to convince people this Iowa team is still a Sweet 16 team, even if they lost in the 1st round. They were the same way last year after getting bounced by Oregon.

Every team in the tournament knew which ball would be used for the games, why did EIU not get Wilson balls to practice with a couple of weeks ago?
I would think the little 10 league mandates the balls that must be used for games, but EIU could practice with the Wilson balls all week leading up to the game today.

Holy Wilson! They just keep coming up with them. If it is not the brand of basketball, then maybe it is the amount of air in the ball . . . and now if that excuse doesn't take, IT MUST BE THE COURT'S FAULT!

And therein lies the excuses. They got their hopes up too high. They were so convinced they were going to be playing in Chicago next weekend and New Orleans the following weekend. I saw some saying it was going to be an exciting weekend in Buffalo. As if they were going to be there until at least Saturday.

Just another reason why I don't give a **** what analysts and broadcasters think.

Maybe they were planning a side-trip to Niagara Falls; guessing they won't go near it after that performance.

Didn't the Squawks use the same excusexat Rutgers 4 or 5 years ago?

Yes.

And I've never heard any other team with the lame excuses like Iowa does. It's so sad and pathetic.

Combine that with the whole band thing and the Iowa fan stealing stuff out of Iowa's locker room ...... what is their deal over in IC?? It's just so pathetic and embarrassing. And this doesn't even include all the sexism and racism...... or rape cover ups.

The funny thing is is that it comes across as if the NCAA administrators have been saying, "We don't care what happens for the other teams in the tournament, we need to make sure Iowa doesn't make the final 4."

I had them going to the Sweet 16 in all four brackets that I filled out, so I can't be too critical of them, but damn....

Of course, they were the only 5 seed I picked to win in every single one of my brackets. I have every other 12 seed winning at least one game. Shows what I know.
