How Bad is ReCe DaViS?

Who cares what people think? ISU fans whining are worse than the haters. Let 'em hate. We have to beat OU for anything to matter. Everything up to now has been to precipitate discussion from mouth-breathers and drive ratings. It worked.

...

Hell I was just watching the KU/TT basketball game, Jay Bilas just said it was a joke that ISU was 6th in the country. I get he is a basketball announcer, but that is the feeling out there by many.
Like I said before, we are playing well, we got our bad loss out of the way the first week, and have improved as the season went on. We now have to go out and show everyone that they are wrong, and beat OU.

Go Cyclones
No, we didn't get our "bad" loss until week 6.

Hint: Louisiana is ranked above OSU.

The SEC bias is real. I would put OU above Florida and Georgia right now. I know people have done studies about this and when an SEC school loses they don't drop as much as schools from other conferences and when they win they rise more than schools from other conferences.

I would like to go back in time and see how they talked about Michigan in 2007. Preseason No.5 and then they lose to Appalachian State and and unranked Oregon to start of 0-2. Yet they still ended up in the top 20 with four losses

Some of the guys at WRNL had a 20 minute discussion with Rece to clear the air. Good listen.

Should be a 30 second discussion.

Rece, you have Indiana ranked #7 and therefore should not be allowed to have an opinion. Indiana's resume is:
- Beat 5 bad teams with losing records
- Get a bad call to beat bad PSU in OT
- Have a backdoor cover vs. OSU after OSU got disinterested with kicking Indiana's ass and Day got cute instead of just kicking FGs and punting to put the game away earlier
- Were struggling mightily vs. Maryland before Penix was injured.

Thanks for stopping by.

Basically said that Iowa State is a great team, Matt Campbell is awesome, thinks we can beat OU tomorrow, but just doesn't think that we're a playoff team. Fair opinion to have, IMO. Pretty good listen, if you have 20 minutes.
I disagree about the fair opinion part, but do appreciate your posting the interview. It would be a fair opinion if he gave more in depth reasoning as to why we do not deserve it and what other alternatives would be more deserving and why. But to just say one team does not deserve to be where they are without offering reasoning for better alternatives is shallow. IMO

That’s fair and all and I’m glad he gave one of our media members time but given all he has said, that doesn’t really negate how big of a boob this guy must be. You dissect his thoughts and it makes no sense (like somebody pointed out about Indiana) other than maybe somebody’s pumping him some money. If you’re in the top 10 you should have at least one if not multiple wins to prove it. It’s not defensible and is based entirely on assumptions. This feels like an espn throwing ISU a bone so there’s not as much bad PR kind of thing, not that they care all that much.

But, it's not a fair opinion, it's an opinion, that's it. If it were a fair opinion, he'd do a side by side of our resume with any other team he thinks should be ahead of us, including tOSU and explain how our's doesn't match up. He can't do that because he knows it would make his opinion null and void.

It's my opinion that this year is a perfect storm for them to elevate the teams they want to the playoff, while still being able to pick one P5 team and bash on them to distract from tSOU and also try to emphasize that, "See, we don't always love P5, we are still willing to give props to others." All the while knowing that a team like Cinci has no chance, so they can tout their ******** all they want.

I don't think it's personal, I think Reece just drew the short straw and he's the one who has to follow the script he network heads are writing.

I only disagreed because I think UGA and FL should be ahead of OU
