It was all fun until the under-handed comment he made in the middle of ANNOUNCING the Top 6 teams last night. It was a jerk move. Rece Davis whines that Iowa State is ahead of Cincinnati while making fun of Iowa State for losing to ULL - a top 20 team. ESPN’s problem with Iowa State is not the fact they are ahead of an undefeated Group of 5. Their problem is that Iowa State isn’t Oklahoma or Texas.
If Gameday ever comes back to Ames, that man is gonna get boo’ed off stage.
It seems personal for some reason. Which one of you guys took his mother out for a nice seafood dinner and never called her again?

Watched the CFP show for the first time this year last night, and holy cow talk about lazy/shallow analysis by some of those guys. “ISU has a worst record than Louisiana, and lost to them, so I don’t get all the love.” Freaking morons is not all about the overall record, who dis ISU beat along the way? If Louisiana had ISU’s schedule Theo record would likely be much worse.

They bend over backwards to make excuses for blue chip teams nonstop but do no research on ISU at all. The constant shade is an embarrassment to be honest. If they reviewed that game at all, they would have seen more context with special teams and our star tight end sitting. To top it off, just not a great game but it didn’t stop them from ball washing tOSU years ago when they lost their opener to a nobody. I ducking hate ESPN and the majority of their “analysts”
This is what’s wrong with people like him these days - our story should be celebrated. Iowa State’s success should be celebrated and recognized : that is the beauty of College Football. A feel good story of a program that is able to improve in the last few years, a program that has full of disciplined student-athletes who followed the protocol resulting in no cancellations from our side.
I would recognize ULL too if they are in our position. Instead these people whined about us losing to ULL and Okie State. I don’t think Cincy will have unbeaten records too if they play in Big 12.

I just want to say, being 25 and from Iowa,I swear I thought red lobster is what she meant by seafood.
I would normally NEVER think this but after 2 weeks of this, it ‘almost’ does seem personal. How can that be? No jokes please, but is there something we don’t know? I mean, it’s like he goes out of his way to question it. Harped on Louisiana beating us by 17 although ranked, yet here Florida loses at home to a depleted unranked LSU and only falls one spot.
On another note, Herbstreit once ridiculed the system of college football because in a playoff world nobody was mentioning the great feel good story of Iowa winning after two tough opening losses & rough social issue offseason. Well, HELL, what about our feel good story? We sit at the top of a P5 conference, for crying out loud! 108 years! They should be bringing us up as the feel good story for what they have accomplished! Instead they are dragging us thru the mud for being ranked that high. I know everyone says “beat “OU” & it will take care of it. We shouldn’t have to do that to get respect in the present.

Ya but he’s not mentioning any of the other solid evidence for the ranking we got and having an orgasm over that loss 3 months ago to a team that is top 20 while not talking at all about his team being so firmly in the top 3 despite ducking multiple games. As the head of the main College football show in the country, He deserves to be bashed for that.
