Hilton Tonight

I'm one of the old guys you speak of...had season tickets before Johnny so yes, I'm old. The best games for me in the past were

The Big Country game with the floor shaking.

Hearing cap guns going off as Steve Stepanovich of Mizzou was announced (1981 I believe) after he had lied to police about someone breaking into his apartment and shooting him...turns out he shot himself while cleaning his gun.

The game against OU...ISU fans chanting "sit down Billy" because Tubbs always paced and worked the refs. At halftime OU was up and Tubbs pointed at the scoreboard mocking the ISU fans. In the end ISU wins and the crowd starts chanting scoreboard to Tubbs.

And of course the LaFester Rhodes game against iowa.

Those are some of my favorite HCM moments anyway.

Can you imagine the **** storm if the student section even attempted something like that today? Different time, I suppose.

Sure hope CSP and staff encouraged their weekend visitors to tune-in to the game to get a taste of Cyclone Country wildness before the visitors arrive today for the weekend. Maybe they'll go to a portion of the Sisters' game tonight? Should be a good crowd, right?

Yeah I think this game was different because all of the "old people" were standing up and yelling more than I've ever seen.

It was crazy last night and it ranks up there with some of the best. I am not old, but not young either. I was at the Big Country game when I was a teenager and that is the bar I set for how loud games can get in there. Last night was top 3 along with the Fizer dunk over Mihm and the Michigan game with Coach Orr back. The Magic is real and everybody knows it.

Michigan game. KU the last couple of years. Virgina under Morgan.

Ahhh yes, the Virginia game. I was pretty sure I could hear Hilton inside of Willow that night. Turns out it was just those of us that didn't make it to the game all yelling at the same time.

I'm glad someone posted this thread cuz I was curious to see how this stacks up against other crazy games at Hilton. You can always kinda tell on TV how loud it is when the reporters feel like they have to speak up a little bit more and that was definitely the case in the last 4 minutes of the game.

Where does this game rank though for those who attended?

Also what point in the game was the loudest? I'd love to hear some details

I was at that Oklahoma game....at the half Tubbs was pointing both fingers in the air as the teams left the court, and of course he got booed - MAJORLY. Then after the Cyclones won, lots of students were throwing rolls of toilet paper out on the court, unrolling them as they flew through the air. One roll hit Tubbs right in the headPriceless.

Not really sure what the loudest moment was because there was so many. My guess is when the game was over. I saw tweets that the court was shaking. I sat up in the balcony and it was very loud.

Season ticket holder for 7 years here's my rankings:

1. Iowa 2013- Loudest "moment" when Gessel chokes
2. OU 2014- Loudest extended period.
3. Iowa 2015 - Most improbable comeback and very raucous crowd
4. KU last year- Best overall atmosphere and hype with Gameday
5. OSU - Naz long buzzer beater- the most memorable hilton "moment"
6. Michigan game- Another great overall atmosphere- one of the best Non-con wins.

Hogue's dunk to seal the game vs Kansas last year was the loudest I've ever experienced, no doubt about it.

OU last year for sure was the wildest crowd I have ever been a part of, and Ive been to every game for the better part of the last 5 years.

Forgot about that Michigan game. Remember Mitch McGary wining at the press conference about the student section singling him out lol.

Definitely not the loudest. Great atmosphere, hell of a crowd but not top 5.

I remember all of those because I'm old too. But as far as Hilton goes there really is something magical about that place. Can't explain it further than that - just simply love it! For this game I wasn't there. I was at the game watch at Saints bar in Omaha. That place was kind of magical at the end. Place really went up for grabs.
