I've been going to most homegames since the 10-11 season. Tonight was I think by far the best atmosphere I'very been around. Fans were on their feet and relentless most of the night. Question for you older folks then is, how does this stack up to crowds of the past? Big Country game?

Oklahoma last year was the top for me after getting to nearly every game the past 10 years. This game was was close give or take. This one had more epic moments. The Oklahoma game had an unreal stretch.

I thought Iowa 2 years ago was the loudest I've heard it and I still do. Oklahoma last year was pretty loud as well. Ok state when naz hit was wild.

Tonight was just different to me. It was different than any other game I've been too. It just seemed like we were meant to win. I had a friend lean over to me with about 7 minutes left and said to me "there's just something about this building" and he was right. We are just never out of it when we play in Hilton

The ghost of Johnny continues to haunt opponents.

As far as loud, consistent volume, it definitely was up there. Especially once we started the comeback.

I was a student during the McDoormat days. Those of you who are current students, do NOT take this for granted. The highlights of those years were getting to see Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin destroy us, and of course, heckling Bobby Knight.

I'm one of the old guys you speak of...had season tickets before Johnny so yes, I'm old. The best games for me in the past were

The Big Country game with the floor shaking.

Hearing cap guns going off as Steve Stepanovich of Mizzou was announced (1981 I believe) after he had lied to police about someone breaking into his apartment and shooting him...turns out he shot himself while cleaning his gun.

The game against OU...ISU fans chanting "sit down Billy" because Tubbs always paced and worked the refs. At halftime OU was up and Tubbs pointed at the scoreboard mocking the ISU fans. In the end ISU wins and the crowd starts chanting scoreboard to Tubbs.

And of course the LaFester Rhodes game against iowa.

Those are some of my favorite HCM moments anyway.

It was very good, but not the best. I think it was the Lafester game........it was so loud before the game started that the players could not hear their names announced over the PA system for starting lineups. I have been going for 35 years. I am quite proud how the crowd never gave up, even when it looked bleak. I have always had my own definition of Hilton Magic.....I say it is the belief that every person can change the outcome of the game through their cheering. Obviously, a talented team helps.

Let's use an accurate measurement stick to gauge this. Even if it doesn't correspond exactly to other institutions, at least we would have a scientific account of the decibel level.

Kevin Durant never played in Hilton...

I was a student during the Hornacek and Grayer years...it was pretty crazy loud then too. When you can't hear the person standing next to you and you felt physically and mentally drained after every game...you know you enjoyed the fan experience back in the day.

Michigan game. KU the last couple of years. Virgina under Morgan.

Noetic science

2010 vs Texas. Fizer dinking over their center blew the roof off of Hilton.

Yes, that dunk over Mihm was the loudest. A side note is the loudest during a timeout was that season (maybe same game?) where they were playing so well he motioned them to stay on the court, and didn't say anything.

We were standing and jumping almost though whole game in the nose bleeds.
