HAWKEYE FAN EXCUSES THREAD

I bet Ott got into a fight with Bullock over his girlfriend. Obvious reason for the choke job, happened to the basketball team, why not the football team too? Don't we need some dumb excuse that probably didn't happen to cover for the flop, since many Hawk fans have made it clear that they are immune to flopping?

Refs giving ISU 2 first downs late in the game. Nevermind on one of those plays they about took West's head off.

You gotta love how us "Clowns" are getting so much respect for our win. Right? It's not like 1 team took the field today. Hok fans are sooooooo full of respect. Love you guys.

I do find it ironic though that Hawknick's status on HN is graduate. Judging by his posts he probably hasn't graduated anything yet.

They blame the fan that had his ball sack hanging out. Guy had big rip in his pants and there they were, plain as day, naked as a jailbird. The guy sat on our row and I got up and moved back a row so he wouldn't rub the jewels on me when tried to get to his seat. No wonder they lost when fans are showing off their junk, they deserve yo lose!

I read through a few Hawkeye Nation threads before posting this. I found 5 posts from 5 different guys saying that Kurt Ferentz needs to be fired. Hmm. Maybe learn the name of your head coach before posting guys, that might help in the long run.

I dont even, how, wait what?

1998 - It was a fluke. And that game is our Super Bowl.
1999 - We would have lost if the game was in Iowa City. And it's our Super Bowl.
2000 - We would have lost if the game was later in the year. And it's our Super Bowl.
2001 - We would have lost if the game was earlier in the year. And it's our Super Bowl.
2002 - We didn't so much win. Iowa lost that one. And it's our Super Bowl.
2005 - They outgained us in total yards. And Drew Tate was out for most of the game. And it's our Super Bowl.
2007 - Throwback uni's. And it's our Super Bowl.
2011 - Too hot. Too many OT periods. Super Bowl.
2012 - Throwback uni's. Super Bowl.
2014 - Refs. Super Bowl.

I could've told anyone the refs were going to suck going into the game. They were from the Big 12 so that was a given. I've never seen a game where they didn't play a huge role in deciding the outcome.

From that previously linked HN thread:

Under Ferentz, Iowa State knows how to beat Iowa. Comparing how the rest of their seasons have gone for most of those years, they don't know much else about football, but they do know how to do that. They might not be the better program, but they are better at this game.

No, the difference here is that we play in a real conference, while Iowa ends up in pillow fights for most of the remainder of the season each year. At least they had one poster reference this earlier in that thread.

Enjoyed reading @Hawkize's tirade on Twitter, including his questions tweeted at Pat Angerer to the effect of "Don't you think Kirk should be fired too????" and "WHY does he keep losing to IOWA STATE?!?"

Angerer was reacting like a normal person who just saw a bad football team lose a football game, and he wasn't jumping off a cliff along with Hawkize, who came across as a strange guy begging a former Iowa player to agree with him

Before the game, wasn't all the talk all about how bad Iowa is? If that's true (which it is) why does isu deserve respect for beating a poor Iowa team?

Quick side note. The last three isu victories in the series, I've had dreams several weeks in advance predicting the outcome. I'll admit this year I was confident that Iowa would come out on top - especially after the ndsu game. But... The ferentz coached teams have a way of surprising me every week.

That's even better. Hawk fans: "We are so bad that you still suck even though you beat us in our house."

10 weeks later, Iowa is then preparing to play in the B1G Championship Game, AKA the Pillow Fight to End All Pillow Fights

Who is next on Iowa's 12 game Super Bowl schedule? Ouch, looks like Pitt. Hawks will be 2-2 in Super Bowl games to start the season.

If, somehow that happens, then isu will have beaten a solid team on the road, and this loss would be meaningless for Iowa.

Since that's not going to happen, I'm comfortable in saying that all evidence points to Iowa sucking this year. It's really not rocket science, I'm not sure how a team being terrible is classified as am excuse.

Are you looking to hear from Iowa fans that isu is any good? The team will have to earn that respect by beating a few decent teams this year, and finishing with more that three wins for that to happen. Until then, Iowa fans are taking this outcome as a reflection of how bad the hawks are, vs how good the clones are.
