I'm personally still on board with the initial post, at least as far as the Hawk football program goes. If they played in any other conference, hell the other division in their own conference, this wouldn't have been bumped by a Hawk fan. The West is terrible and I'd argue that from top to bottom, the Mac is as tough as the Big 10 West is.
Iowa my look good on paper and they'll have a nice resume at the end of the season, more than likely making the B1G championship game, but their last 2 losses of the season will prove what the West is all about. A bunch of mediocre teams, and a bunch of really bad teams battling it out.
That being said, I'm still not going to say ISU would be doing any better in that conference. Iowa may drop a couple of WTF games during the season, but ISU historically loses games they had a good chance to win. The big difference between Iowa and ISU is that they do tend to find ways to pull close games out more than not.
And being in the Big 12 isn't the reason ISU is so bad. We'd be right there with Illinois and Purdue, hoping not to finish last.
