Cyclones.com recognizes the first round of the tournament by stating in 2012 you played UCONN in the 2nd round and Kentucky in the 3rd round. So just stop. Just, stop. End of discussion.

It's all relative, bud. I considered Hoiberg's first year relatively successful because the style of play was a lot more explosive and it seemed reasonable to expect better results once he got the players he wanted for his system. For us this year, we'd be relatively happy with 5-win season in football. That's a low bar for success if I've ever seen one.

Also, you need to understand, Its not like every Iowa fan was happy, and was content with an NIT birth. It was more than that. It was about a basement team that finally found a pulse, and was finally competitive. Thats what gets fans excited. Like, lets say this year ISU football has a good finish to the season and ends up with 6-7 wins, and goes to a low tier bowl. No one is going to be partying n the streets or anything, but your team showed signs of life, and was competitive. How in the world would you not be allowed to get excited, and show up and support the team? Because it wasnt a 10 win season?

That's because the NCAA-- the definitive source for their own tournament-- called it the first round in 2014. It was the First Round, and centuries from now, nobody is going to dig up evidence that shows it was called something else.

2 teams out of the west are ranked in the top 20. 4 of the 7 teams are receiving votes. Nebraska is a hailmary and overtime lapse away from being undefeated and another ranked team.
