Games Cancelled

I'm more concerned that this could really disadvantage us for the Baylor game. Too much of a layoff. I'm not sure, but I think they will play a couple more games before they face us.

Those of you saying this is lame, and that the visiting teams could have made it back to their respective cities missed part of the announcement. From the email I just received:

“After consulting with both Omaha and Drake, we believe that cancelling both games today will afford the student-athletes from all four teams the opportunity to depart ahead of the storm and return safely to their homes to spend the holidays with their families,” Iowa State Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard said."

How about we quit complaining and let the teams go home for Christmas?

I like watching us beat up on crappy teams

Without even reading the announcement that was my immediate thought. Lot's of people mulling over their travel plans because of the weather and the players have a narrow window of time off for their holiday and don't have much in the way of options. Can maybe travel earlier now assuming they can change flights which will be difficult.

Some dumb 'Battle in the Vault' event they're hosting today.

Concordia (NE) vs Oklahoma Weslyan
Drake vs Mississippi State
Nebraska vs Queens

Totally random and I have no idea why Mississippi State agreed to it.
Queens is super random too. Newer to D1 I believe...

Concordia and Oklahoma Wesleyan are not D1 I believe...

weird, but I'll probably watch.

So in a 6-team event only 3 of those teams are actually Division I teams?

Totally random is right.

Although Mississippi State vs. Drake might be a fun game. Would be great for Drake and the Valley to beat a ranked SEC team.

Athletes exist for our sporting entertainment and pleasures only. They go home when we damn well allow it.
