Iowa’s passing game is geared to play action. In the 2nd half, the backs were gashing the NIU defense, particularly in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Stanley could have made hay with play action but it wasn’t needed.
As I said, the one area of the game in which I was disappointed was Nathan Stanley.
They said he added 20 lbs in the off-season. Appears a lot of that was upper body strength.
Maybe slightly hyperbole. Who is the best tight end you’ve had in the past 40 years?
Well we only have to go back 4 years and EJ Bibbs was first team All Big 12. If he played with even an average QB and decent coach he would have put up some numbers.

Agree 100%. Do not like this week at all. Least favorite week of the season for me. Just pure hatred being spewed back and forth all week long between fellow Iowans.
Just because he was all Big 12? Hockenson is lethal over the middle. We will see, but it is certainly possible that Hockenson has a better year than Fant. Just saying, he’s really good. Assuming good health of course. I just looked it up and Bibbs had like 45 catches as a senior. I’d take Hockenson and the over here. And don’t whine about QBs.
