Fear the Walking Dead?

Only people I enjoy on the show; the shop owner, Ofelia, and the student kid.

The shop owner seems to realize it is everyone for themselves.

Ofelia realizes she can use her looks to hopefully get extra supplies for her family.

Student kid realizes this is a long term thing and needed to stock up on food.

Everyone else is still struggling with this divorce.

I dont think thats attempting to relate to current events. I think thats actually part of the canon of the TWD universe. We saw a little of it with the original TWD series- when Shane went to check on Rick while rick was in a coma, he came upon military doing exactly what they were doing here- just killing everything living or dead outside 'safe zones'.

It's also used in other zombie/apocolyptic stories. Take the Redeker Plan in World War Z for example. It really has nothing to do with current events.

I must've missed something. What is the flashing light in the window? And what did the mom find that made her come back and beat the druggie's ***?

It was a survivor.

And after travis told the military guy about it, they went up and killed whoever it was.

Mom figured out the druggie was still using and stealing the drugs from others, not getting better. She was also beating his *** for not taking what is going on seriously and still using. She should have hit him harder.

Flash light/reflection the first time with the kid. At night the flashes were gun fire that you could see through the window.

In an earlier episode, the kid was video taping a riot when his dad called. He said something like this "The cops just shot this homeless guy for no reason, people need to know about this." Just seemed like they were relating it to the controversial police shootings from the past 2 years (people see a police officer shooting someone and automatically assume the person is innocent and the police are abusing their power without really thinking about WHY the police might shooting that person (The homeless man was obviously a zombie).)

Mom just continually hacks me off. So the son of your boyfriend shows you a video and you take it upon yourself to cut the fence and go check it out? Then after the patrol passes, you don't even go to the house? wth?

Exactly what I was thinking. Welp, patrol is gone I better go home.

How long until that hole in the fence becomes a problem? Or are we to assume she closed it up when she got back?

So army guy tells the crowd about the other camps(12)? Los Angeles and vicinity has how many million people? Where is everyone? Army killing all outside safezone? I doubt soldiers would be following those orders. I don't think zombies are spreading that quickly

If this show didn't have ties to the Walking Dead I don't think it would get a second season.

Yeah, I think they are pretty much killing anything outside the safe zones - anyone they aren't 100% sure isn't infected (and they don't seem to know exactly how it spreads yet). At least that is what I gathered from this past episode.

Also, it looks like they are culling the survivors in the safe zone - getting rid of the wounded and anyone that could threaten the peace there (heroin addict).

Wow- folks are being really critical of this show. So far I'm enjoying it more than WD's endless wandering through the forest...

The show and the beginning of the apocalypse are interesting to me, however like the others here, I'm having difficulty caring for most of the characters. Compared to The Walking Dead, I cared about most of the characters.

I would think they understand the potential of what could happen and they are taking no chances of people hiding that they were bit.

If the Walking Dead did not happen there would be a total different approach to this show. The producers/writers know we know about Waking Dead which is why they are taking the approach they are with this show. We know what is happening, the characters do not. This is why I am enjoying the show. Most think it will blow over and they will get back to normal.

I thought it was OK up until last week with the military response. Now it is really getting in to too stupid to watch territory for me.

I dont think its stupid. I know seems like a cliche, but I could easily see this kind of thing happen. I agree with others as far as unlikable characters. However, Im interested in the story and cant wait to see where its headed.
