Does HCMC need a OC to call plays?

I've seen/heard a few comments along these lines. Where is this coming from? The NFL was always Tom's dream. Why is anybody thinking he'd return?

This isn't a thing; all OC's also coach a position.
If this is true, then Campbell is missing out on a lot of great coaches around the country that could come in and help us win.
I think for the Coordinator positions is where the biggest continuity is important to Campbell. He may bring in new guys but will not be high level guys. I know some will say this is a mistake, but look at the high level ones that CPR brought in, they didn't help a whole lot.
Herman was the only high level OC he brought in, never-mind the hundreds of other examples of it working throughout college football.
I have it on good authority that Campbell never even attempted to hire Kliff to be our OC. Makes me doubt Campbell's in it for the long haul.
He is leaving, if he hasn’t already done so. Going to the AAF.

One criticism I had of our offense this year was that it sometimes became predictable. If I as an uneducated fan know what we are going to do on most plays, dedicated football people will obviously be able to pick up on it.
Washington State did a good job against us creating space for their receivers. We need to get better at that as well. It didn't seem like we did a good job of finding openings in zones.
I would hope a dedicated OC could correct those issues.

Pretty much positive we've already had the dedicated O.C. it just isnt released yet

You said high level OCs. Mangino wasn’t a high level OC brought in, he was a nearly out of work bum looking to get his son another P5 job.
Never mind that you were incorrect, your contention wasn’t logical. There have been countless of high level “outsider” assistants hired by programs that have done very well. Rhoads not having success doesn’t mean ****.

I think he was speaking in terms of HC/OC. Even the best have realized it's just too much.
