Read this about half way down on him. He played in a camp with the top40 players from a few classes. Read what the scout said about him. I am not sure why we have not offered him yet or if he is commited to us and nobody knows. I just want him on our team for some reason. This is the reason.

weird, nobody from Iowa there, do we have any good athletes that arent in wrestling?

I'll always trust the staff to try and get their guys in, but I've never understood why people have poo-poo'd the idea of offering Stevens. He's athletic and 6'7" for goodness sake, I'm sure we can find room for a guy like that on the team especially with what his dad did here.

i really think we need darius hes 6'7'' asa sophmore so his body is still developing when hes a senior I'm sure he will be getting a lot of big time looks if hes not already committed by then

What kind of programs are we gonna be competing against him with? I really would like to see him as a Cyclone too, but how good is this guy... I mean our we competing against Duke, North Carolina, UCLA's for this Stevens? or are we more likely competing against small/mid-big 10/big 12 type conf schools and/or big mid-major schools?

Umm... We are a small/mid-big 10/Big 12 school. We probably won't be snatching anybody from Duke for a while.

What can Stevens do that Harrison Barnes can't do?

Why couldn't you have Barnes at the 2 and Stevens at the 3? There's more than 1 guy on a basketball team.

It's obviously early but I've heard very good praise about Darius and Barnes. Both are Top 100 material easily and probably Top 25-50. I would say the bigs will be after both of them but as of right now ISU has a very good leg up on both of them. It's not a done deal by any means but I would hope both of them see the many positives of being a legend at ISU instead of another player at one of the bigger programs.

He's a great looking young player, and the spitting image of his dad (only skinnier right now). I saw him play at Barry's fundraiser and he handled himself well with the older Clones, some who are still playing at a high level. At 6-7, athletic, a good looking jumper, and great grades, I can't believe we haven't offered him. He will get heavier and likely taller, and we may not get him later. Anybody know his status with our staff?

lol, sorry, but I was there and I loved all the former Cyclones who came back, but I think Jared Homan was the only one playing at a "high" level, bcuz I believe he still plays over in Europe. Barry did look good though, but it was a bunch of older men...I would rather watch him against some of the big recruits in his class.

Uhhh - He's Barry's son! I always loved it when people (broadcasters, Hawks, etc...) said Barry was a streak shooter - my response was always yep he's a streak shooter every game!:biglaugh:

Even if he was terrible, which he is definitely not, I would rather offer a legacy of a GREAT player at ISU than a lot of the guys we end up signing that take up bench space...TALK ABOUT A CROWD FAVORITE!!

That would be a decent class, Dykstra, Barnes, and Stevens. Top 15-20 class?

We sat courtside at the Barry Stevens tribute. I got some close, yet a lil blurry pics of him. This is probably the best one. I couldn't believe how young he was once they announced it to the crowd. He has a young face, but he has very nice size. I also like the fact that it has Hilton Magic at the top of the pic.

His sister could also be a twin for Brandi/Moesha.
