Cheikna Dembele

i don't think playing time is as attractive as we think it is. Cheik Diallo is a great example.
Come on, really? Diallo isn't here because Hoiberg, who he and his handler loved, told them he would not promise he would be at ISU this season....at that point they quickly changed plans and focused on KU and UK...nothing to do with how important PT was to Diallo...if Hoiberg was here, Diallo likely would be too....

I don't think Diallo was a gaurantee and there is no way you can say that he was.
I still think KU gets him. He mentioned that Embiid played a big factor in his decision

Lol, yeah, that was mentioned after he signed with KU.... He is not going to come out at that point and say "I was leaning ISU but than went to my 2nd choice KU when Fred left". We don't know for sure, but we know what people internally thought and we know how much his handler praised and loved Fred. Ain't to hard to add it up...

and you you should look up the definitions of "likely" ( which I used) and "guarantee" ( which you substituted), Will be a good learning experience for you...

Diallo is a fouling machine with the B12 refs.

You mean the guy soaking up millions sitting on the bench with injuries?

Diallo wasn't a guarantee. Early on he seemed more likely if him and Yakwe were a package deal, but then the GA connection got in the way. Someone working within the program said he was probably going to KU way before the Matt/Fred thing came down. Our staff had moved on from Diallo way before the pundits kept listing us in the picture yet.

So over a year ago? You are really underestimating how long Fred was constipated in recruiting.

Not what I heard

Lol calm down. Don't know why you are getting so worked up about an opinion that you have no way of proving bc it's all hypothetical. just don't buy that it was that likely he was going to ISU. Just cause they were thought to be leading by some "experts". KU was the leader on 247 for pretty much his entire recruitment and with Embiid helping recruit him and with KUs history of bigs it seemed like an inevitable choice.

KU now has a history of McDonald's All-American freshman big men rotting away on the bench so lets see if thats used against them in the future.

It won't hurt them. They already have one big and still in the running for couple other bigs in 2016 are are in good position for some top 2017 bigs as well. You must know how things work in recruiting. You think Kentucky is going to get hit bc of Skal? No how about Duke for Jeter? No the blue bloods will continue to get top prospects regardless

Not what I heard

The guy worked for the program and the day the Diallo/Yakwe news came out that we couldn't touch him, he was bummed. Shortly after, he said not to get your hopes crushed because he was probably going to KU. That's all I'm saying. I know and trust my source. But I'm sure you do yours, too. Not worth debating now.

Not saying you are wrong, just heard other things as well

I need to get me a source with the team. Even if it's the night janitor at the practice facility.

Trust me, its not worth it. Because either you better not say squat, or if you do offer a little factual info (only because the negative speculation goes nuts sometimes), you get reamed over the coals on here because you didn't identify or backstab your source. Still like coming to this board though. No doubt its active and passionate.
