Baby featured on Nirvana's 'Nevermind' album cover is suing the band

Isn’t this past the statutes of limitations? Most things are like 5/7/10 years (outside of the really serious stuff) to my knowledge.

When I read the story yesterday, my reaction was 'He's only asking for $150k?' I am not sure how wealthy the members of Nirvana are, but to me, it would seem they would settle for that much and have the person sign a consent for the picture (if one doesn't exist).
I would really be interested in their contract with the record company. Why wouldn't he be suing Geffen over this? Isn't it up to the record company to make sure that there is consent for all the art work on the album cover?

And Kirk Kobane is the most over rated musician of all time.
To quote @dahliaclone’s opening statement in this thread “THIS is stupid”. At least get the name right. Beyond that, there are far more overrated (it’s one word; not two) musicians than Kurt Cobain.

He's asking for well over a million dollars. Probably close to $2 million. He wants $150k from each defendant, including Nirvana's former drummer that wasn't a part of the album in question.

That makes more sense. I thought he names all those people in the lawsuit together for only 150k total. But if its 150k each, then that makes more sense.

I always imagined Kurt Cobain awoke one morning, rolled over and looked at Courtney Love and in a moment of clarity decided a shotgun in the mouth was a better option.

I believe statute of limitations only applies to certain criminal offenses not civil cases.
There definitely are statutes of limitations in civil cases but I don’t know what they would be in this case.
And I guess that could be why they are using the causes of actions that they are. It’s entirely possible that something like sexual exploitation of a minor (or whatever their cause of action actually is) has a much longer statute of limitations

So, this was impacting his life in such a bad way that he felt he needed to get "Nevermind" tattooed on his chest, and to recreate the photo in 2015?

I'd be curious to know what his current financial situation is.

I think there's an interesting question of should he get a cut because it's a famous album cover and his parents didn't sign off.

But the fact that he is saying this is child pornography is really pissing me off. Because this is not child pornography and the fact that he calls it that minimizes the issue

I would find photographic evidence of him in possession of said Nirvana's cover (you know he bragged about it growing up) then threaten to charge him with possession of child pornography.
