Another Justin Hamilton Update

How many games we win next year is a moot point. If Mac fails to make the NCAA tourney in year 5 he should be gone.

There is no room for saying just because we win a couple more games next year and show a little improvement Mac should be retained. He failed hard this year when all the pieces were there for him. If you can't do it with that... Buh bye.

I will still cheer for them to win. The writing should be on the wall that improvement is not enough.

Big thanks to the rumor heads who felt the need to start a rumor Ham is coming back so we can go thru pain again.

No props to the supposed insiders who backed this up as "disticntly probable".

I could care less about non-conference games. As far as the Big 12, we won't win any more than we did this year - 4. If you think we'll win 5 or more, I'll take that bet...
Exactly, the question is do they win a Big 12 game? No I dont think so.

I'd have to agree with you - based on what I know right now, if the O/U on conference wins were set at 4.5, I would not be taking the over.

I'm going to wait and see who is on this team before making any bets. If no one else transfers and we add Wilkins and Clark, I would say we will win more than 4 Big XII games next year.

A big 12 game? Absolutely. We won games when we had 2 walk ons starting.

Big 12 was stacked this year. Next year...not as much. We win 4 games or more next year. Probably not much more though

Do you think JP shares this view? Do you think this expectation has beeen discussed with Gmac? I have a funny feeling that it hasn't...

I have a feeling it has. JP in no way endorsed the outcome of the season and the fact that he had to address it in a press conf tells me he put the pressure on. Donors and ticket sales will tank next year which will force Pollards hand.

I'll take the over 4 on conference wins. I will mark it down.
Who? 4 wins? Thats one more than we had this year with Brackins and Gilstrap! Come on, Nebraska and Colorado will both be better next year those are our only possibilities and we barely beat either team this year and only beat CO once. Face it we are the laughing stock of the Big 12 in basketball right now, WE ARE THE BUFFALOES OF THE BIG 12 IN BASKETBALL!

Have you been paying attention to Oklahoma?

Have you ever had a pet that you loved, that was near death? Well, option 1 is to let that pet suffer until it dies of natural causes. The pet will be in a great deal of pain during its final days, but at least you can say that you allowed it to hang on as long as possible, right? Option 2 is to put the pet to sleep, because you love the pet so much that you can't stand to see it suffer. It may hurt more in the short term because it is your action that causes the pet to die, but relieving the pet from its pain is the best thing you can do.

Since euthanizing the pet is more likened to killing the basketball program all together, here is probably a more apt analogy:

You have a sick pet and the vet tells you you need to pay a lot of money for a procedure and the procedure may or may not work. You could spend all this money that you don't really have to begin with and your pet could either get sicker, stay the same, or maybe fully recover but you really don't know what will happen.

You could do nothing and your pet could still get sicker, stay the same, or get better. If you wait and see what happens it may cost a little less to do the procedure next year or you might be able to come up with some more money. Your kids are freaking out and crying all the time because the pet is sick but your spouse is sympathetic to the situation but she really doesn't want to make a decision one way or the other.

What are you going to do? BTW, if you make the wrong decision your kids will disown you and your wife will divorce you.

OK, go.

Player for player they will still have more talent than us, I would say we had more talent than them this year and they still beat us. I dont know a team in college basketball that had as much talent as us this year and underachieved like us.
