Another Justin Hamilton Update

yeah.. its not so much records and stats... its the feeling of having no direction after so many years.

The ONE thing that has kept us from post season... player retention.

Severe lack of ability to retain players...and it's even starters we're losing en masse.

Severe lack to live up to expectations based on talent we had this year.

I just can't defend the direction of the program anymore.

Since euthanizing the pet is more likened to killing the basketball program all together, here is probably a more apt analogy:

You have a sick pet and the vet tells you you need to pay a lot of money for a procedure and the procedure may or may not work. You could spend all this money that you don't really have to begin with and your pet could either get sicker, stay the same, or maybe fully recover but you really don't know what will happen.

You could do nothing and your pet could still get sicker, stay the same, or get better. If you wait and see what happens it may cost a little less to do the procedure next year or you might be able to come up with some more money. Your kids are freaking out and crying all the time because the pet is sick but your spouse is sympathetic to the situation but she really doesn't want to make a decision one way or the other.

What are you going to do? BTW, if you make the wrong decision your kids will disown you and your wife will divorce you.

OK, go.

I think this should be carved in stone somewhere.

This. And I'm a die hard "want it to work for Mac and the program" but I'm at my wit's end. Ham leaving was the straw that broke the camel's back for me.

I agree 100% about you point on Hamilton. That's the clincher for me. If someone like Justin Hamilton (who really showed vast improvement this year and was a starter) isn't happy, that shows how bad things really are.

But but but......Gmac is a great coach. Gmac is a great person. Gmac was dealt a bad hand. Gmac has bad luck. etc etc etc. ISU can't do any better. No one wants to come to ISU. Ames sucks. :biglaugh:

Seriously, you could bring some sort of insight but instead you only spew needless garbage. It's sad really.

Warning: Sarcasm ahead.

But you can't be a true fan of your pet if you want to have the procedure that could make it better.

And, you can't root for your pet to get worse, which would require you to have the procedure.

Finally, the illness is doing things the right way.

Schools also use players ... schools give players conditional scholarships sometimes dont they?

Um yes they do. Thats not dishonest, and backstabbing like WJ and Hamilton have been. The very fact that the contract states it's a conditional offer is the whole point. Use some common sense. Thus ISU is honoring their commitment and being up front. In fact they can not break their commitment.

It is only possible to recruit over a person. In which case many players realize that they aren't going to get playing time and a "mutual decision" is reached. It is very very difficult to pull a schollie even if they get into trouble. Nearly impossible to pull a schollie at a whim like some of the jerks keep doing to us.

Actually though better yet, If my pet has a painful cut on its leg and it isn't healling. I should just hope for it to get worse get totally infected, so we can amputate it and then it won't hurt it any more.

Please enlighten me with all of your insight with regards to the current state of ISU basketball.
Please include documentation.

1. Prior four year record
2. Number of player defects
3. Current status of recruiting
4. overall staus and state of affairs

Your apology accepted.

Which should be another indicater just how bad ISU basketball is. When players decide to break contracts knowing what you have stated above. How bad is it.

Let's keep whining about how player after player hurt our feelings instead of firing this awful coach.

You guys have your pet analogies all wrong. It's like this:

You get a puppy with only one leg.

You work your *** off to buy that dog some replacement legs.

You come home from work one day, and find your dog with your wife.

You say, "what's up with that dog?"

And he says, "barroooroooorooo"

So you get your gun and shoot his ***.

But the bullet deflects off his titanium hip that YOU bought the son of a *****, and hits you right in the nuts.

As you lie there bleeding out, he comes over and licks you in the face.

Yeah, it's exactly like that.

People are throwing the guy under the bus...he obviously doesn't want to play at ISU anymore. Can you blame him? Why don't we get ****** at all of the people who enroll at ISU to begin with, then a few years later they transfer because they don't want to be at ISU anymore, not grades?

It's his decision, and it's his life. It's not like he transferred/quit in the middle of the season. That's a different story and level.
