always a silver lining....I'm sure that's partially based on how small the town is, and that there is no way it can compete with bigger towns for things to do. However, that can be the allure of Ames, too. Less crowded, slower paced, no traffic...those can be positives.
Hard to see that "ranking" considering Ames is usually in the running for the top rankings for places to raise a family, has a low crime rate and has a good school system.
I don't think any of those things matter for someone visiting for a weekend...

He must be basing the rankings on some mythical formula because there is no way that Ames isn't in the top 5 towns in the Big XII.
Ames crime rate has sky rocketed in the past 2 years, and the Ames School system is less than stealler.
