***2023-24 MLB Off-Season Thread***

Degrom could’ve gone down as a top 5 pitcher of all time if he wasn’t made of glass. Unreal how the dude can’t stay healthy. Hopefully it’s nothing but his history indicates otherwise

Back in and hurt again this weekend.
In other news, water is wet.

I'm actually wondering if they have something in his contract/agreement where if he has even a little pain, they pull him and put him on the injured reserve.

But, yeah, it's a shame he can't stay healthy.

Watching the Angel's game right now...Shohei is absolutely incredible! Where is he going to end up next year? My guess...in LA but wearing Dodger blue! How painful would that be for Angels fans?!

What the hell happened to Kris Bryant? He has like zero power in his bat now. I thought for sure he was going to be a 25-35 home run hitter every season after his rookie year.

Lot of guys that start out great flameout at 31 or 32. Don't know if it is age, nagging injures or lack of desire after huge contract signing or a combo platter of all three. $27M this year and another $131M after this year whether he hits 25-30 homers or 10-15.

I think injuries derailed his career quite a bit. Tough to stay solid at what you do when you’re missing a month plus at a time a lot. Crazy to go from a NL RotY to NL MVP to basically a below average player as fast as he did

He’s not below average though even after injuries. He’s had one year with an OPS+ under 100 and it was the short covid year. And for those wondering what OPS+ means it’s basically what percentage above league average you are which is 100.

Below average may have been a bit harsh. Massively overpaid fair?

Saw this game and thought great catch after homering twice. Saw this on Twitter later with tons of comments dissing Judge but the one made me laugh.
