I LOVE watching Shohei...but why are the Angels hanging on to him? Either give him a contract he can't say no to...or trade him! If they let him play the season out and he walks...no matter how many people travel to Anaheim to watch him pitch...it will be the worst use of an "asset" ever!

They're going to waste his best years, just like they've been wasting Trout's.

Just blows my mind how a team can fail so miserably at building around two generational stars in Trout and Ohtani. They've been given gifts and they can't seem to do anything with them.

Every game that passes...it lowers the trade value of Shohei. They could get so much more right now than they would at the end of July! Trout...they won't get nearly as much in return with that contract (of which he deserved). But they might as well suck it up and take whatever they can for both of them. It would be painful and a PR nightmare...but letting Shoehei walk for a draft pick is just ridiculous (if that is what they have decided to do)! Especially if he becomes a FA and signs with the Dodgers! OUCH!

That’s the Angels for you

They've had legit stars come through Anaheim.

Also had some absolute horrible free agents.

Josh Hamilton, Vernon Wells, and Gary Matthews Jr. come to mind.

They'll spend some cash. They just do a **** job of choosing who to pay.

They also need a new stadium. Badly.

Edit: Pujols was a given....

The Angels front office is in a no win situation. In my opinion they could be good enough to get into a Wild Card spot this year. And if they are contending for that by the trade deadline they’ll have to make a hard decision that won’t end well in either scenario for the Angels. Either they give up on the WC by trading Ohtani (and pissing off fans even more) for what will turn out to be not nearly enough value or they keep him to contend for the WC and he’ll walk in free agency.

Umps weird interpretation again.

1st inning in Cleveland. Ball is hit to center where Aaron Hicks makes a shoestring catch and doubles runner off of 2nd for an inning ending double play. Replay on TV shows he trapped it but Cleveland manager Francona just stands in dugout and does not wave for a challenge. I'm watching and thinking "Damn, I'd have challenged that." Yankees leave the field and Cleveland pitcher heads out. Commercial break. Come back and umps have gotten together and sent in a challenge to NY. Thing is you have 15 seconds for the manager to do that and you only get 15 seconds if you immediately call for it. Not sure what the heck the umps are doing. They missed the call on the field but broke the rules to fix their mistake. Double errors for them.

"At any time during a game, a crew chief may initiate a replay review of a potential home run call without a manager challenge being exercised. Beginning in the eighth inning, a crew chief may conduct a replay review of all reviewable calls upon his own initiative or upon the request of a manager who has no remaining manager challenges." - MLB
