At a minimum Fran will be here next year. To be fair though Iowa mens hoops is getting absolutely sacked because their fan base is full of band wagon fans. It all feels like the beginning of the end for Iowa losingest coach.

iirc Holloway played basketball at Seton Hall. I’d assume he wants to stay there for an extended period.

Funny you bring up those 3. They are 96, 97, and 98 in NET. Iowa is somehow 64 so much closer to the bubble (but still not really close).

is it possible that the ADs are in favor the bottom 3 teams in league play not even making the field?

it saves some travel expense and sometimes you just want the season to be over. Steve Prohm didnt need to make his last trip to KC.

And that league is pretty much guaranteed to have 3 or more trash teams every season. its not like the big 12 which has some bottom dwellers that can surprise you. look at WVU beating Kansas. there is no way that Purdue is getting beat by the worst team in the big 10.

I guess to bake in more seeding advantages for the top teams? I agree with you, 16 would be better and don't like the idea of teams not playing in the conference tourney.
