Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

Does Oregon/Washington have enough other revenue streams beyond a bad TV deal that it might be worth staying just because they know it'll be an easier path to the playoff? Otherwise my guess is they're waiting on the Big10.
This is an interesting point. First off, everyone (sans SEC) is waiting for a BIG invite. And OR/WA may get one at or before the next media rights cycle. Others may get one too. But do they wait it out in the PAC or the B12? Interesting dilemma . And is that dilemma used as a close for a B12 offer now?

Yeah, if all this ends up being is Colorado and UConn, i find this rather disappointing.
I don't think we're going to have to worry about that. Arizona is ready to jump, they just need a push. Once that happens Oregon and Washington are going to look around at the leftovers, probably give one last PLEEEEEASE to the B1G, before jumping as well.

Luckily it’s not up to BY and everything I see says the conference presidents are overwhelmingly against it.
They may not have a choice. By accepting Colorado they have pretty much committed to taking another team. If taking Colorado fails to pry even one more PAC team loose and forces BIG XII to take UCONN you have to wonder if it was worth it? That's the problem with adding teams, once they're in it's tough to get rid of them.

I'm really hoping UConn is a smokescreen. If not, this will be very disappointing. I'd rather play an F'd up schedule with 13 than add UConn.
I'd take them in basketball but everything else...just not doing it for me.

Oh well, I suppose I'm going to trust in BY's decision making at this point.

I think the bigger question would be why would Oregon and UW want to dip into their reserves when they could be earning significantly more? I can't see those two riding out a cobbled together PAC just to wait for a B1G offer that may never come.

It’s a no win. Even the carrot of letting each school keep all of their own playoff would still implode the conference from the bottom up rather than the top down. It’s what we’ve been saying all along. The PAC is absolutely ******. That’s all there is to it.

That MWC buyout # really puts them in a bind. Whenever I say "new Pac" and "new MWC" I'm just thinking of the best 10-12 team realistic pac and then MWC promoting up NDSU/Mont/MontSt.

They really screwed it not getting at least SDSU in by that deadline. Not sure what SMU's situation is...although at this point is SMU thinking they're better off sticking with the remnants of AAC and keeping their travel down?
Rough to get outmaneuvered by both the Big12 AND the MWC...

ladies and gentlemen, George Kliavkoff!

I just don't like the idea of elevating another G5 when the PAC hasn't even seen any numbers yet. why be so hasty to jump on UConn when in a month, the PAC could be on par with G5 money and everyone looking for a way out.

Maybe this is an ISU fan and having been through this stuff multiple times, but why wouldn't you jump at a life raft? I know it has worked out for the Big 12, but, it's been a wild ride filled with Luck. As much as OUT sickens me, they did save our asses the first round. Then, the timing actually worked out well when their jump to the SEC got leaked. We had time to backfill and there were some decent programs worth elevating and keep decent TV money coming in.

The PAC certainly could pull a rabbit out of their hat, but it's looking very tough to see how. They have no TV contract after this year and without that, how do you even really talk about expansion? "Hey, leave your conference and come to the PAC, only problem is, you might have to take us with you back to your old conference."

The Big 12 had a contract in place, was able to work with the TV partners on who to bring in to keep the money coming in. I can't fathom how you even try to do that with no one to talk to.

Never got the Louisville boner from ISU fans. It’s a ********.
The geography is great. Football is solid, ACC added them to make FSU and Clemson happy. Basketball is considered blue blood. Why wouldn't we want them? I just don't see them coming until ACC starts breaking.
