I whole heartedly disagree that that was a great post. Just because you go undefeated and by the transitive property beat other teams does NOT make you the champion.
So is Ball State tied as the second best team in the country because they only have 1 loss? Good God no. You can't pick and choose when you use that argument and that argument is absolutely horrible.

Looking at this schedule, Utah didn't have a quality win until 10 games into the season. Michigan? Let's think of how Michigan started the year: Absolutely terrible. Oregon State was a home game and just coming off the biggest win of their season. TCU was their first quality win, and they barely squeaked that out at home. BYU was another quality win, yet another win at home. Alabama was an excellent win, but on a neutral field. They gained a lot just by the schedule they played (see Kansas last year) and never had to play a good team on the road (neutral fields, yes, true road games, no).

Now here is the schedule of Florida, a one loss (to this point) team. Week 4, lost to a ranked team by a point. LSU rolled into Florida with a #4 ranking, and left with a black eye. Florida went between the hedges and smoked Georgia and their #6 ranking. Smoked a Vanderbilt team that went on to a bowl game. Smoked a South Carolina team that went on to a bowl game

skeptical

Annihilated a Citadel team that's, well, the Citadel. Annihilated a Florida State team that went on to a bowl on the road. To cap it off, beat an Alabama team on a neutral field just like Utah did. I'm guessing I could probably make the same argument with Oklahoma or Texas, 2 win loss teams that would give a Utah a run for their money, and I would be willing to say beat the Utes. Is Utah an excellent team? Damn right they are! Are they the clear cut national champion? Nope.
