How Bad is ReCe DaViS?

I think the predictor is heavily weighted by past seasons. The fact that no two loss team has ever made the playoffs pretty much eliminates us in the predictor because it’s never happened before.
Then why is OU and Georgia on that list?

Heres the graphic. Can’t find the full thing but you can see the logos

It seems like Rece is just trying to create TV drama, but it is at our expense. He is coming off as an ass. If it is true we had some covid issues before the Louisiana game, we could have taken the same approach that Ohio State took and cancel the game even though we had the numbers to play. We chose to play Louisiana even though we may have not been fully prepared, the media had a meltdown about us having fans, and we had little to gain from the game. We all know that we would kill Louisiana now. It would not be close.

Never have liked him. Seems like your basic a****** to me

No it won’t. We’ve earned our #6 ranking. If we lose, we will drop of course. But losing on Saturday doesn’t erase the results of the seaso.

I think you missed my point, of course it does not erase the results of our season but to stay relevant in the CFB picture it is win and stay in it or lose and it takes us out of the conversation. Someone on either side of the argument is going to be proven right or wrong on Saturday that we belong in the conversation. I guess I just am not offended or upset at what Davis things as some apparently are. This is unprecedented territory for our program so of course there are going to be some doubters out there. You have the same issue with tOSU right now where some say playing 5 games hasn't proven anything and they don't belong ranked in the top 4 then there are others saying that they've seen enough of them to believe they are the real deal and belong there.

This has been my thought as well. If OU wins Saturday, then it would justify with the committee to move them way up to be in contention for a playoff spot if the the moon and stars line up correctly.

Which is fair. The committee has made it perfectly clear that a G5 team isn't getting into the four team format. If OU wins Saturday they also have a real solid resume.

This. One million percent this. I totally expected, based on our history, to be the feel-good underdog story. A true outsider with a chance to compete with the blue bloods. Instead, I think ESPN has used us as the lightning rod for all the CFP negativity and as a way to distract from the undeserving teams they are trying to push.

It's hilarious how the G5 schools think the CFP comittee are protecting us as one of their own, when in reality I don't think we've ever viewed ourselves as a member of some group of football blueblood schools.
Spot on. We should be the feel-good story with the breakout Heisman contender (Hall) instead of Coastal Carolina - who ESPN is obsessed with for some reason.

Had to google who he was. I don't watch or listen to sports talk babble, just watch the games. I don't think I am missing much.

There is theory out there that says the CFP Committee is pushing us up so if we lose to Oklahoma they can push them into the CFP because it would be another blue blood with a huge following. It would make the CFP four teams of Bama, ND, Clemson, Ohio State and Oklahoma. Pretty much the same teams over and over and over again. They started the CFP to get some diversity at the top, but it is the same teams every time. Like many said, our story should be one used to say "Hey the CFP works!" but instead they're mocking us.

Can someone confirm ISU’s COVID situation prior to the LA game. I have heard that we had COVID issues and that 36 players hadn’t practiced prior. Is this true? Do the talking heads know? Should we have skipped the game even though ISU hadn’t reached league thresholds for cancellation ala several b10 teams?

A la several B1G teams, Cincinnati, the two leading ACC teams...but who's counting.

Then they should just get the hens from the view to do it

They save that for ESPN Radio.

They were playing a clip last night of someone complaining about ISU whose biggest accomplishment is sometimes being on the Sarah Spain show.

We should be the feel-good story, but we're mildly threatening to break in with the blue bloods for a year, so we're some kind of ratings/money threat, and really quite a bother.
We're not even knocking on the door of being a blue blood or traditional power. We don't know how long it lasts.

So we should be the feel-good story, but we're everything they don't want now.

But your argument is stupid. As of yesterday, we had the resume of a #6 team. No one is arguing that Iowa State should be in the playoffs right now. Hell most of us won't be mad if we win and don't make the playoffs. Rece's argument is that Iowa State doesn't belong where they are right now. He's bitched for 3 weeks straight (when I started paying attention) that Iowa State is over rated and there's no way that a number of teams shouldn't be ahead of us. And that's just a crap argument. I think that is an interesting discussion and I'll say that the committee has been fair with us. But he's not having an intellectual discussion over several teams that could be ranked from 5-10. He's flat out saying that there's no way we should be 9 or 7 or 6.

He would lose his ******* mind if we got to #4. I mean the coronary might kill him. And if he was simply making the argument that no matter what we do on Saturday and no matter what else happens on Saturday, we shouldn't be in the playoffs, that's cool with me. But when he argues that we shouldn't be top 10 or hell top 15, then that's where we have a problem.
