Barta is trying to use us as a media smokescreen to distract from the Ohio State shenanigans. Not that it’s working, but he’s trying. And it gives the media another chance to loudly bag on us.

Also, I would bet the committee thinks we’re going to get rolled by OU, and our ranking would give them an excuse to jump OU into the top 4 in case something weird happens (FL over AL or NW over OSU)

Ya but he’s not mentioning any of the other solid evidence for the ranking we got and having an orgasm over that loss 3 months ago to a team that is top 20 while not talking at all about his team being so firmly in the top 3 despite ducking multiple games. As the head of the main College football show in the country, He deserves to be bashed for that.

Honestly don’t know. I don’t watch these shows that much. Is Reece’s an OSU guy? Is so, that show is loaded with them.

What I like is you know CMC knows the guys are talking, but is stone cold business this week. Just the right blend of "we belong here and don't listen to the noise" with a reminder they are a special team doing things never done.

I.e. while Rece, other national people, fans complain we don't belong, CMC has built a culture THEY know they belong

G5 is irrelevant. They are #19 in the country. It wasn't a "good loss", but it wasn't bad either. Personally, I'd rather see Cincinnati or Coastal Carolina in the top 4 ahead of both OSU and us. Also, "At home" is irrelevant when there are no fans in the stands.

Florida's loss to LSU is significantly worse than our loss to Louisiana. I'd be fine if they had Georgia ahead of us. But, they lost to Florida by 16, so it's tough to have them ahead of Florida with identical records and similar schedules. So, they were stuck with putting us ahead of both.

Why should Cincinnati be rated above us? Because they’re undefeated? That’s all well and good, but they have played literally nobody noteworthy this year. Being undefeated isn’t the end-all-be-all to this. You actually have to defeat someone worthwhile. Beating who’s on the schedule is an argument that’s all well and good for inclusion in a NY6 bowl, but not for a 4-team playoff. And I’m not saying ISU has done anything as of right now that makes us worthy of inclusion. I’m still of the opinion that our two losses are going to kill us in the end, despite how “good” they are at this point. But the CFP committee seems us worthy of their conversation, that’s all there is to this.

I find it ironic that the "eye test" only matters to teams like Ohio State... You also have to appreciate the hypocrisy of Rece crapping all over Iowa State for a week one loss in a covid season that had minimal offseason activities all while the SEC, B1G, and Pac12 sat idle. Clearly the playoff committee understands this.

I’d fire Matt Campbell on the spot if he wasn’t showing these dipshits on ESPN shitting all over his team to the football team during meetings. The underdog and disrespect card should work in our favor. OU should be bewaring of dogs this weekend.
