We’ve been called for it before. In my eyes, it’s a stupid rule.Just remembered, Iowa has been getting called in a couple games now for imitating the snap. Is this something Iowa coaches their players to do? Or is 54 just doing it on his own?
Why is it a stupid rule? It's stupid to do it..it's cheatingWe’ve been called for it before. In my eyes, it’s a stupid rule.
HeywoodAlright guys, I got banned for being nice in the football forum, what’s new on CF this week?
It's very far from stupid. The offense is penalized for just moving while the defense is penalized only if they cross the neutral zone at the snap or they draw movement on the O. The offense goes on the snap count so they shouldn't allow the D to imitate that trying to get an offensive player to flinch. We’ve been called for it before. In my eyes, it’s a stupid rule.
WSU in the Alamo bowl is one I can think of. Rumors are with less fans, the refs are able to hear this better and why it gets called more. It's very far from stupid. I'm pretty sure ISU has had games in the past where the D was doing this and a very disciplined ISU offense ended up getting a bunch of false start penalties because the crew wasn't calling it. It can be extremely disruptive.

And if he kept doing it you know that he was getting away with it enough that it was worth the occasional penalty to keep doing it.Kenneth Murray from OU got called for this all the time. At least once every couple of games.
I always hated silent counts. My HS coach gave our QB and one receiver a specific audible. If the WR saw tight press coverage he would start pounding his inside thigh pad, the qb would tap the center in a specific spot and when he pressed up for the snap the center just snapped it. The WR was great at releasing and would generally get a Long play. Nothing like being a LT and thinking the snap is on 2 or 3 and being relaxed because set hasn’t even been called and having a DT blast you over. Man I hated that audible.Kenneth Murray from OU got called for this all the time. At least once every couple of games.
Wait why did @iahawks get banned? That's stupid.
Interesting. Well happy you're back!I have no idea why I got banned, but I was banned for a couple of weeks and got reinstated last week.
I played a lot of TE and some RT, and we had a coach my Freshman year who implemented 2 different silent counts. I hated these because on one of them, I was responsible for the audible and there were multiple times I messed up. One of the times I did mess up, was when I blew out my knee because I got blown up for missing the audible.I always hated silent counts. My HS coach gave our QB and one receiver a specific audible. I just feel like you should be able to understand your own cadence and be able to distinguish between your own and some opposing defensive lineman.Bump for @CyHawk1605
Lol what a weird stanceI just feel like you should be able to understand your own cadence and be able to distinguish between your own and some opposing defensive lineman.

Imagine if there wasn't a rule.. Guys would just be screaming on defense "hut" or "go" or clapping the entire time. It'd be utter chaos and ruin multiple facets of the game and also cause the referees a ton of problems.Lol what a weird stance
