I've been a Cyclone fan since the the Johnny Majors era and I've seen my share of good and bad Cyclone teams.I hate too say it but mainly bad teams but I still will cheer for the Cyclones through good and bad and always will.but there is no way we should have been in that postion in the first place.I know we are a very young team and they are still learning but come on up 24-13 with little over 9 minutes to go in the game and the defense lets them move the ball down the field at will not once but twice and score a easy 2 point conversion.Does'nt fair well in my book.They do this game in and game out everytime.Then to put more salt on the wound they call an option play 6 inches from the goal line.....UNREAL....They were calling that play alot during the game and they snuffed it out but did MacFarland really think that he was going to fool them with that call...I don't blame coach Chizik at all but I do think Wayne Bolt has to go and bring in a D cordinator that knows how to coach a defense and hang on to a lead.We have seen this to many times in 2 years from the defense

yeah not the greatest game I've seen im really impressed with the offense they can move the ball and score but yeah the Bolt being gone at the end of the year may have to happen just really bad schemes (and there were blown assignments on D). Chiz may have to do something like fire Bolt in the next few years to show he is serious about making a change @ ISU

It's a different college football landscape now. Coaches don't get 4-5 years anymore with the economy and high costs of programs - contributions, season tix prices, etc. Frustrations mount faster as fans are asked for more and more $$.
In today's world, Mac would not have gotten as long as he did, and Gene will not either.
 
Anyone else notice the poor spots by the refs? It's almost as if the Big 12 wanted to get a team into a bowl game.

Thank you for admitting that....

But as for the rest of your point... How long do you give a coach??? We can't afford firing a coach every 3 years. You don't give them enough time to get recruits in, you don't give them enough time to get their play calling in. You don't even give future recruits hope that the coach that recruited them is going to be there to see them through..

Maybe fans should be more patient??? And not the other way around???

You mean like when Arnaud rolls over the CU guy and clearly gets a first down and they didn't call it that way, making us waste a timeout? No, I don't know what you are talking about.
 
we were ahead 10-0 at the half- this game was winnable-we lost this game to @#$@ poor coaching. anyone else see it differently????

We gave up 28 points in the second half. Against a poor CU team. We didn't deserve to win, but we sure didn't deserve to lose like that. Ugh.

haven't the coaches lost several games this year? I fear the staff is losing this team because of the decisions they make to cost them the game, as well as the Iowa, UNLV, and Kansas games. Not to mention getting dominated by Baylor. I understand coaching losing a game or maybe 2, but not a track record of it near the end of the season.

That is my take. We might have good coaches, friendly with players, but at gametime they stink up the field with their calls.

Hey cyco2000...that was me that said this is the worst product I've seen...this game included. Maybe you're too slow to realize I'm talking about the Cyclone football team as a whole, not this specific game...albeit, this game included. When your offense is is this unimaginative and the coaches are playing catch up all the time instead of playing aggressively (I could talk volumes on this one) you've got issues, especially at this level. It seems like they're over their paygrades in my opinion.

Have you been watching this season by chance or are you one of the cool kids who thinks it's ok to toe the party line even when you know the ship's sinking?

If you honestly think this season is going just peachy and god forbid throw out the multitude of excuses such as 'we're young...give the coaches time to adjust...we just don't match up very well...' then there's a timeshare I'd like to sell you.
 
Why on every other 1st and 10 do we either run up the middle or do a 3 yard out and then the last play when we need literally 6 inches we do an option??? Personally I'm not even mad...im just kinda impressed...no wait...very impressed!!!

This loss was aganst the worst offense in the big 12. We could not stop Maine.
 
When it is first and goal we have no play that we can depend upon. This is the tenth game. The season is over. Wait for another year. We beat Tier 3 UNO in exhibition today.

We are about three touchdowns a game away from being good. That is the level of nebraska and kansas. We are six touchdowns from TT, Okie, Okie State, and texas. We can catch them by 2012 or 2014. We can bowl in the south end then in 2014.
