I want to see the positives from this game, but it's just too painful. Let's try and get a win against KSU and stay in the game against MU.

Worst offense but that was before they went against the worst defense in the Big 12....
Agreed we couldnt' stop Maine... But thats because we do have the worst defense.
Obviously, the worst offense in the league is better then the worst defense in the league... So what does that say???
Threads like this embarrass me as a Cyclone fan. Makes me feel like I've logged onto Hawkeye Report.
Maybe a fan can be "patient" and still be critical? I've doubled my annual giving, will be in the stands next week cheering, as will most in my section. We love Cyclone football and this university. Meanwhile, we expected more this year, and wonder if progress is being made.
Meanwhile, I've got friends who didn't renew their season tix, go to a game or two, don't donate, but think Gene is a "nice man" and we're lucky to have him. They're "patient" as hell...

Their schemes do not work very well in the Big 12 unless we get a lot more talent. A lot more talent. We could improve next year and still keep last place. Colorado looked terrible yet they won.

So if it weren't for the coaching we'd be BCS bound, huh? I only saw the second half, but for the most part the play calling was good. I do question the option at the end, and I was hoping for a screen pass sooner or maybe a quarterback draw to slow down CU's blitzes. But other than that ISU moved the ball well in the 2nd half. The biggest problem ISU has right now is lack of experienced talent. Chizik was left with very little in terms of talent, so it will take a couple years before his recruits have the necessary experience to judge Chizik as a coach. Just relax everyone. No sane fan expected ISU to win this year. The program appears to be headed in the right direction, and I for one am excited about the future of ISU football for the first time in years.
It is their first win against a Top Ten since 1990.
How come is our team going the opposite direction?

I'm thinking we might as well win the next two. Give Missouri a crushing defeat, and send Prince out as a loser! It's still doable.
If you're really at the point of jumping off the Cyclone bridge, give your tickets away to someone that will use them! Next week is our first game in person since Kent State, and we can't wait! 8 losses is enough to chase off the fair-weather fan, but the diehards will show up.
Tough times show character. I guess the question here for the fan base is, what is your character? Are you the quitter that walks when times get hard, or are you serious about getting behind your Cyclones.

That wasn't my question. I see improvement in a very young team. Today's game was extemely frustrating. ISU should have won. But at the same time I saw a lot of positives in a game where ISU was a 9.5 point underdog.
We were lucky that they didn't call delay of game on us that last play. I still don't understand some of the decisions that Chizik makes. At least we had a chance to win the game. I suppose we can at least be thankful for that.
Yeah, how did the refs miss that one? If we had scored, all hell would have broken loose...
I know things seem bleak, but I was able to find some positives today.
1. We beat the spread.
2. We are not the worst field goal kicking team in the conference (far from it, in fact)
3. I had 8 tacos at Es Tas during the football game.
4. Craig Brackins has a sweet mohawk, which I am hoping will give him super powers this year.

I was at the mens bball game watching the football game then listening to it on my little radio and I am not even at the game in Colorado and no qb sneak up the middle that is what I would have done, but instead Mcfarland decides to go backwords with an option?? Seriously!!! sorry coach you need to explain yourself on that poor call did not even give a chance to win I feel bad for the players they played thier hearts out today!! Please explain the thought behind that call?????
