ISU @ Colorado Postgame

Your team has the lead
You know you will lose

Life and times of an ISU fan.

This is a crushing loss for the players. Not that we had much chance next week anyway, but next week might get ugly.

This is sad. No lie... I had just looked over to my wife and said please don't run the option.

and we ran the option.

This is also funny... because I'm not even getting paid and I knew not to run that play.

Okay... its sad again.

Everyone knew we'd run the option. Look at the replay, middle was wide open. Colorado knew we'd run the option and played it.

I liked the comment about Bolt being gone. I was more impressed with out D last year. Now just amazed in a bad way.

I wonder why the D was better last year, we had three NFL players...

Prevent defense = preventing victory. Every single coach seems to believe in going to this soft 'keep it in front of you' defense with a lead in the 4th quarter. Couple that with attempting to run out the clock on offense in between the two CU TDs and that's the ballgame.

I never have understood this philosophy and never will. Why not stick with the defense that has brought you to an 11 pt lead?

Sad thing is, it wasn't the prevent killing us, we were blitzing ALOT at the end and not getting there, leaving alot of open areas. IF you are going to blitz you have to get to the QB...

The second our pass rush had troubles getting there or when we stopped putting pressure on the QB, we got picked apart.

Great move by CU to switch QBs. Was very nervous when that change was made.

haven't the coaches lost several games this year? I fear the staff is losing this team because of the decisions they make to cost them the game, as well as the Iowa, UNLV, and Kansas games. Not to mention getting dominated by Baylor. I understand coaching losing a game or maybe 2, but not a track record of it near the end of the season.

Anther thing I noticed in the second half was that there were alot less blitzes from the defense. We knew they were going to be passing, why not use some blitz packages?

We actually blitzed alot in the 2nd half but they blocked it well and the lack of guys in coverage left receivers open.

One bright spot... we finally got a 100-yard rusher... so we can run the ball a little bit now... we just called the wrong play for the win... gotta follow the full back... there was no imagination there!

Gene needs to have a sit down with Bolt / McFarland and light a fire under their butts!

I also knew too well 11 points is not enough for us with 8 minutes.

Sad as it is.

Id be willing to guess that the team completely phones it in for the last two games and we get dominated after a loss like that.

Re: ISU @ Colrado Postgame

I think Chizik should have McFarland handle the call-in show on Monday like Mac had Barney Cotton once after a particularly pathethic game... then we can all call in and seek answers...

Why do we even waste scholarships on fullbacks right now? We don't use them.

After seeing him today - why has Scales not been playing fullback and why aren't we running more of a traditional "I" formation?

He's supposedly the better blocker. He has good speed and can catch the ball out of the backfield. Why not get him and ARob out there together? Second threat out fo the backfield and more protection for AA.

Is Bass even on the team any longer?
