ISU @ Colorado Postgame

I will say, had we tried to stuff it up the middle and didn't get it, there would be fans here demanding for the option play that worked earlier in the game.

Questionable call - but I'd guess - based on our short yardage play this year - up the gut would've yielded the same result. PA to the right and a toss to the FB or TE back left would've worked, I think.

I would have preferred the play where Scales scored. We had enough blockers to over power the defense.

Anther thing I noticed in the second half was that there were alot less blitzes from the defense. We knew they were going to be passing, why not use some blitz packages?

I wonder if the no huddle kinda screwed us up and could not get the right personnel,or the right play in on time.

Everyone knew we'd run the option. Look at the replay, middle was wide open. Colorado knew we'd run the option and played it.

I liked the comment about Bolt being gone. I was more impressed with out D last year. Now just amazed in a bad way.

Prevent defense = preventing victory. Every single coach seems to believe in going to this soft 'keep it in front of you' defense with a lead in the 4th quarter. Couple that with attempting to run out the clock on offense in between the two CU TDs and that's the ballgame.

I never have understood this philosophy and never will. Why not stick with the defense that has brought you to an 11 pt lead?

Hopefully the coaches will learn to take some chances.

Two things after week 10.

1) Any opposing O coordinator can look at the one series of ISU film and realize that running the simplest rub route is good for 25 yards. I'm honestly amazed these teams run anything else.

2) We STILL have trouble getting the plays in from the sidelines. And in doing so, Arnaud still has a little trouble realizing the play clock. But honestly, I think McFarland has to change his pants right about now cause I'm realtively sure he just wizzed his pants will making that last call.

The thing I am most sick of is the blown coverage. We have given up so many ridiculously easy yards and points through blown coverages which should simply not happen, period.

Un-*******-BELIEVABLE! ARNAUD IS 220 LBS! You have to feel terrible for the players because the coaching staff takes the heat for this one! continually blitzing instead of dropping into coverage and a ******* option from the one yard line!? seriously?

The thing that concerns me the most is that I feel, after the UNLV game, every coach we've played has considerably outcoached us in the second half.

Other teams coach, "OK, here's what they are doing, here's what well do to counter act that."

Us, "Wait, what are we doing?"

Oh, and when are we going to learn to get plays in during critical situations? Another example of getting outcoached. For ***** sake, seriously, we just need to ****** the last 4 minutes of every game. This game did not come down to talent at all. We flat out got outcoached.

LOL, why is ****** censored. lol, we can't discuss what you have to read to know your part in a movie?

Totally agree , I thought the same thing , run a damn qb sneak ! Hell, I wish they would have called us for delay of the game !

Anybody else getting sick of being called the Hawkeyes ! Boy, before this game I was kind of hoping the Hawks would win, now I hope they lose there game, only because there fans will be hard to live with.

I don't want to jump on the O too much. They really played pretty well all day. That last play blew chunks. But they did a great job getting in a position to win - and didn't get the help they should've from the refs (1st down, stopping clock).

The loss clearly hangs on the D. Specifically the secondary.
