Hey, it's K-State ...

And it was a phantom technical foul
I was at the game in the stands so I have no idea what the circumstances of that call were. Maybe he had given him ten prior warnings; the KSU players were chirping in KU players ears a fair amount during the game and in between plays and I saw the refs step in and speak to some KSU players several times over the course of the game. Who knows.

2 things:

Fran said during broadcast that game was very well officiated so don’t drag him into it

I’m as big a Sam Mellinger fan as anyone but he is a bona fide KU homer
That's my point. BRUCE WEBER drug Fran into the conversation in an attempt to claim that the game was poorly officiated in his post game whine.

It's a conversation, that's all. No one is butt hurt. No one is a snowflake. Can elementary school name calling come to an end now so the grownups can talk? Good grief.

As fans, we all see things through the lenses of our own fandom. My bias colors what I hear the same as yours. Obviously Fran says plenty of nice things about Kansas into his coverage of Kansas but he throws enough red meat out there to the anti-KU crowd that even KSU coach Weber has noticed and drug Fran into it in his post game presser. And I just found it funny that Weber, made an attempt to drag Fran into his whine and had it blow up in his face when Fran disagreed with him.

Sorry that I mentioned your beloved Fran. I hope he retweets one of your fan pix with him. Buy him a doughnut when he comes to town and he'll sing even louder for ISU in his next ISU game.

So pretty much Kansas fans don't like Fran because he speaks the truth?

I enjoyed Fran's comment during the KU Tech game in Lawrence, when he said something like, "Chris Beard needs to say to the officials, 'look, we've played well enough to win here, we deserve a fair whistle from here on out.'"

Everyone in the Big 12 not named Kansas loves Fran because he goes out of his way to suck up to them in his game calls of Kansas and in his social media platforms. This isn't complicated to understand or recognize. It is simply math. Fran knows there are more people tuning in to watch KU lose than to watch KU win, so he plays up the "KU gets all the calls, you have to beat them by 10 to beat them by 1" shtick because it gets him love from non-KU fans. And it's become enough of a shtick that even opposing coaches are referencing it now.

Obviously you think he is impartial; you like what he's selling. He's been kissing up to ISU fans for a few years now. His twitter feed is littered with pictures of ISU fans posing for pictures with him, kissing his butt about how great it is to meet him. He rolls into Ames and people treat him like a rock star everywhere he goes. He eats that stuff up. You're his audience. Impartial? Laughable. He's a little Italian dude from Brooklyn who loves an adoring audience and who identified how to get one. Good on him.

Bruce Weber is a doffus and I think we can all agree on that point. However you went on to try and tell us that Fran caters to all the KU haters more then he does to KU which is blatantly false. Fran is equally complementary and critical of every team. KU fans just don't like to be criticized more then the rest, so KU fans take it personal when Fran gives an honest take that doesn't portray rainbows and sunshine.

Yup, it's official. Big 12 basketball threads becoming KU threads. First WVU player thread, now KSU thread.

Tuco, go home.
Good grief, you're complaining about posts about a Big 12 team in the Big 12 threads. And MY posts have been about the KSU coach and his whining after a game against Kansas. Others have made it about Kansas so grump at them.

Or better yet, grab some coffee, a little fiber and enjoy a nice BM and maybe your morning wiill perk up.

Fran has always said that you have to be 10 points better to win in AFH. That point probably wasn't made in Sam's article because it didn't fit his narrative. But it is the truth. TxT was way better when they beat Ku. K-State wasn't and thus couldn't overcome the officials. No one watching that game, other than Ku fans and scoreboard, would walk away saying Ku was the vastly superior team.

I never said that Fran does it more or less than anything. Just that he does it frequently enough that even opposing coaches are aware of it, as was proven by Weber's rant that I linked.

Always is right. He includes that line in every KU game he calls. Which is my point.

And Kansas wasnt a vastly superior team which is why they only won by a narrow margin. Wade is the only player for KSU that is really good.

Well, someone needs to get them this year because he has the bench loaded for next year with stars-in-waiting transfers from other schools.

Moore isn't anything special, he'll be an off the bench guy unless he drastically improved from Cal. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the Lawson brothers got themselves into some trouble before next year.

This is the core of the issue imo:

KU fans get really bent out of shape when the media doesn't slobber all over them. God forbid someone have a different opinion.

KU has had a dominant run. I think KU fans are nervous it's coming to an end and are over-sensitive about their status.
